Final #cardioflow of #phase3 80 Day Obsession round 3 for me. I get tons of questions about these pesky little mules that you just love to hate. Or hate to love, if you’re me. They are challenging but it’s so rewarding to practice a movement pattern and have it all come together. This move is hard, and it’s taken A LOT of practice to really get the components to all come together. But it’s also the most rewarding workout for me because it challenges my entire body. And my mind. For real. So, here are a few tips. 1. Do a pre-hop before you go into the full movement. This gives your legs a little momentum and reminds them what you are about to need from them 2. Tuck your head and look at the wall or space behind you....looking through your legs. This is huge and took me a while to figure out. If you try to keep your head up, you won’t be in alignment and it’ll throw off your balance. 3. Go to a space where you can fully commit without being afraid. You gotta commit 😘 Lay aside the fear of falling over and just go for it. 4. Exhale. I don’t take a breath in when I go up into mule, I make sure I’m exhaling during the movement. You’ll get more umph. It’s a very technical term. 😝 I hope that helps! The biggest thing this move has taught me is that change and improvement, strength and stamina, coordination and balance all come in time. The don’t happen overnight. It takes consistency and training and some sticktuitness(another very technical term. You’re welcome). It takes some falls and some failures and some setbacks to move forward. But you can do this. Maybe it’s not the mule to frog. Maybe it’s running a 5k or getting back into a workout routine or lifting weights for the first time or a career or personal goal. You have to stick with it. You are VERY capable. You can do hard things. 😘😘 Now go and DO it.

Part of today's torturous workout. That I made a client do this morning. And I had to send her an apology text as soon as I finished 😂😂 Double knee ins with a plank twist. Today was all about rotation elements. And my legs are just mad. 11 days in this house with sick people y'all. Have to make good use of my time somehow lol! Thankful for some time to sweat and move today. Happy Thursday!!!!

This is <almost> 39 💥💥 Ran away from all our responsibilities for a few days of floating and eating and laughs. Thankful ❤️ @leslie_hutch #birthday #thisis39

These last six months have been doozies. Right? But overall I feel a closeness to my kids and a closeness as a family that may not have come through any other means in the midst of a beautiful yet busy and crazy life. And today, I had a hard time letting them go. We’ve laughed and cried and yelled a little and traveled and played a crap ton of baseball. We’ve lived a lot of life during this eternal Spring Break and my prayer is that we hold onto this closeness and fresh perspective as we head back into the craziness. 3 schools. High school. Middle school. Elementary. And they were READY. A tad nervous, but so ready. And my house is quiet. Sooooooo quiet. A lot of newness happening today, and while there is so much I pray isn’t a new normal for us or for them, there is so much good I’ll take from this season and cling to for years to come. ❤️❤️ Prayers for all the kiddos and teachers/administrators marching into a new year. It’s gonna be good!
Psalm 103:2 “Let all that I am praise the Lord; May I never forget the good things he does for me.”
