Rina was at the Welcome Luncheon of Ambassador Caroline Kennedy on her birthday. During the Ambassador's speech, she reaffirmed her intention to improve women's rights at the workplace in Japan and said: "Women's issue is not just a women's issue. It is a men's issue."

Following leaked photos of Prada Japan's CEO, Davide Sesia in the company of young teenage girls, Prada asked for defamation compensation for damaging its brand image.
Tokyo's Court ruled that the private life photos leaked by an individual had nothing to do with Prada's brand image and dismissed the claim. Isn't it ill-considered of Prada Group and its lawyers to accuse Rina, who is herself a victim of sexual harassment, of causing defamation?
東京地裁はプラダグループがプラダジャパン社長ダヴィデ・セシアが１０代の女性と妻に浮気している写真が公開された事や未成年の女子を何人か週末にプラダ青山店へ連れて自慢していた事をプラダの名誉毀損として慰謝料を請求していたが個人のプライベートでの過ちを会社の名誉毀損としてボヴリース氏へ請求した事は却下。自分の未成年者との浮気を名誉毀損として関連のない元被害者に慰謝料を請求するのなら、最初からプラダは社員に対してセクハラや個人の浮気をしなければ良い事である。プラダもプラダの弁護士団も無教養すぎて言葉を失う。

Tokyo's Court valued Prada's brand image as very low (4% of what Prada Group claimed as their image value) but still ruled that "voicing against sexual harassment at the workplace is illegal."
東京地裁はプラダのブランドイメージにはほとんど価値はない判断（プラダ側のブランド評価に対して４％の価値）であるが ”職場
でのセクハラに対して発言する事は違法である” という判決内容。

Japan was ranked at 105th out of 136 countries by the Gender Gap Report 2013, between Cambodia and Nigeria. It ranks lower than 2012, when Japan was ranked 101st.
