A great museum with indoor exhibitions as well as authentic houses and stabbur from different eras from Romsdal. You should set aside at least a couple of hours to cover the most interesting bits and ...join a guided tour inside some of the houses, the oldest dating back to 17th century. See More

The main exhibition centre looked very new and included a cafe, cloakroom, toilets and lockers, as well as free wifi. The cost of entry was 100 NK but can't remember if that was a Seniors discount. So..., about £10 each, but that also included entry to the open air museum. The display in the main building was very interesting, but the open air buildings are the main attraction.About four buildings were open the day we were there with fluent English speakers to interpret and explain. Just be aware that the open fire in the oldest building does mean that you come out smelling strongly of woodsmoke! So much so that we had to pack the clothes we were wearing completely separate for the rest of our cruise!But if you are interested in the history of Norway and a comparison with our domestic architecture, you will find it very interesting. The cafe was not too expensive for Norway and we had a freshly made ham and cheese sandwich with salad garnish for £9 equivalent and free chilled tap water. Helt magisk konsert med Aurora i går. Arangemanget var superbra tilrettelagt for både kjøp av mat/drikke og andre nødvendigheter som feks ladestasjon for tlf osv.. 😃👌🏻
