The Warrior Jazz Band from Ygnacio Valley High School performing big band swing music at the Rotary Club of Concord. The Blast From the Past Swing Dance will be at YV High on May 6 from 7 - 9. Tickets are $5 at the door and will benefit YVHS Instrumental Music Boosters.

The Rotary Club of Concord California had another productive evening at the Food Bank of Contra Costa. All participants had a good time, except perhaps for frowny face Parmod Kumar.

We'll have wine, music & noshes; lots of business card mingling; tours of the new facility; give-aways; tastings of some of our upcoming SpiritsFest vendors' delights; volunteering opportunities; and a wonderful tribute to a 'Home Town Hero', Concord's very own Ms. Sandra Scherer, Ex Dir of the Monument Crisis Center. Great Day for Concord Rotarians not only in the parade but assisting the City of Concord with volunteers throughout the parade route & at the festival in the evening with a big shout out to Jerry Hoobler and Rick Ernst who took control & got us all organized!

Demotion party for David Miller

Look out world....the changing of the Rotary guard is happening in all of our 35,000 clubs in the next 2wks! In Concord, David Miller will be 'demoted' (Overthrown? Exiled? Something like that...) and incoming president Dave Litty (me!) takes charge!.

Wish us luck, wish me even moreso that we hit the year hard, do some great things and help make the greater Concord community an even better place for all of us to live!
