Did you know that smoke can catch on fire? On Tuesday night, the Roxbury Fire Department held a training session with all three companies using the Max Fire Box. This training tool helps firefighters learn about smoke behavior in a safe, controlled environment. In the event of a real fire, our firefighters can identify critical stages of a fire such as, flashovers, backdrafts, and smoke explosions. Special thanks to Instructors John Dixon, Mike Daley, and Max Fire Box.

Alarms went off in our house last year on a night that it was pouring! The fire company responded quickly All turned out to be fine. They checked everything, they noticed that our 3 kids where still u...neasy. They walked the house showing the kids how they check the walls, ceilings, etc to show the kids it was all ok😀
Those extra few minutes really eased the minds of our kids. Thank you!

My father told me a story back in the sixties about how a local citizen saw some of the firemen washing their cars in the firehouse (during the winter) and complained that they were using town facilit...ies for personal use. He was then told about how the firehouse and the equipment in it was paid for by the volunteer firemen's hard work running bingo, dinners, red envelope drives, etc, and that if he volunteered he would be able to do the same thing. He just drove away. Come to think of it now, he missed out quite a bit by not joining. I have many good memories just from my father's time there. Best wishes and thank you to the whole #1 family.
