A good venue. Great atmosphere and great new years eve. 3 things that marred it slightly ,was a barmaid called Debbie who gave no please or thankyous, and probably one of the most miserable barmaids I... have ever been served by. Secondly, my wife wanted a glass of wine and I had to buy a full bottle for £23 most of which was wasted and the bogus brothers band were terrible. Could not hear instruments or lead singer because the drums were far too loud and drowning everything else out. Still a great night though See More

I love the royal armouries. The exhibits are excellent. We visited yesterday and watched a brilliant demonstration with the staff acting a fight with the broadsword. It was brilliant and very The only criticism I could give is that I wish it had a proper cafe/restaurant with more choice of food. The menu was very bare minimum. I'm not saying this let's the place down, because it's not a nessesity, it's just it would make it even better. See More

There is so much to see we are doing it in sections! A fantastic range of exhibits and various activities, demonstrations and talks help to bring history to life. (Check the website). We were there fo...r a short, interesting and entertaining talk on the Terracotta Warriors.
My only frustration is that these short talks are not advertised in advance (only appear on the day) making planning round them difficult.

The exhibits were great and being lifelike especially the mounted ones were so realistic, for people less able to get around and needing to sit and pause there are fold down seats situated on every lev...el.The staff were informative and helpful, if there is a criticism is that the cafe area has little choice but there is an eating area on the top floor where you can eat your own food ,the staff in the cafe were great providing hot water for my baby grandsons bottle.Overall a brilliant day out See More

Absolutely fantastic day out! Much more than I was expecting, my 9 year old loved it. All of the extra activities, demonstrations & displays today were fantastic! Some of the interactive things for ki...ds around the museum could do with repair but it didn't spoil our day out. Would highly recommend! Well worth a visit! See More

I can’t say enough good about this place! Allow hours here and don’t miss the crossbow range! They are thorough and informative about every exhibit. There’s even a cafe if you need a rest and a snack :)

A brilliant day out, 4 floors of great models, real weapons and loads of history. My only criticism is the layout, It follows war fare, tournaments, oriental and self defense, which I found a little c...onfusing, I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a timeline to follow, but the demonstrations of sword fighting and movie weapons were really interesting. thanks for a great day out. First time visiting the museum today. Just our luck as we arrived to watch the tournament with the kids the fire alarm went off. Can i just say how professional efficient and polite every member of st...aff was in getting everyone out safely to the meeting point. There was no sense of panic and the kids were even entertained by the knights outside as we waited for the all clear. This just made them even more enthusiastic to go and watch them when it was safe to return. Snacks and food are reasonably priced and the nearby car park wasn't extortionate either. If you prefer to bring your own food there's a picnic area upstairs too. Every member of your team was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning soon and recommending to family and friends. :) See More

It was a last minute decision to go but very glad we did. Well signposted. The museum is situated over 5 floors and will take you a whole day to look round if you look at everything on show. There are... 2 cafes located on the ground and second floor. Will definitely be returning. See More

The Royal Armouries itself is excellent and we all had a very enjoyable visit. We will definitely have a return visit.

However, the cafes were both very poor with their choice of menus. Pasties and... sausage rolls could not even be warmed up, strange.

That said it will not put us of coming back, but we will bring our own picnic.

I went there today following a dream about a bejewelled sword. With the help of the staff, especially the sword enthusiast who is also a first aider, and the librarian, I was able to find the sword al...most in its dream form. Each time I visit Leeds, I make time to visit the museum. See More

Great for a full day out. Had to give it 5 stars as it even managed to keep our kids entertained. The guys who did the talks & re-enactments were also excellent. Well worth the day out. A credit to Leeds.

Our museum shop's product of the month for February is the Robin Hood sword.

This highly decorative replica sword was inspired by the ‘Locksley Sword’ from the Robin Hood – Prince of Thieves film.
