The first venue that I actually felt at home in when I came to Denton, and then I got to know it! I had a practice space in here for 10 years, and it was the best place possible, for multiple reasons,... to have your rehearsal room. It remained my second home for over a decade! See More

Cut my teeth on that stage many many times. Honed my skills for many years in those rehearsal rooms...

Best practice space ever. The club was awesome as well.

Played here about 20 times and came here many more and I've never personally had any problems with them. Once a touring band got wrongfully upset with them regarding payment and they handled it with g...race. Venue itself is clean, sound is top-notch, the drinks are great, the staff is nice.

Not a big fan of their online presence, though. Garrett is great, but Josh (I think it's Josh doing it?) should really cool it with the off-color jokes and childish response to (admittedly unjust) criticism. I think taking the high road in a lot of those scenarios does way more to belittle the dumb comments than dropping to their level.

I love this place. It's the most important venue in Denton. They just need to hire a PR agent.

Saw some great shows and met some great artists at RGRS. I hope the teased reopening is true

Because of this place, I got to see some of my favorite niche noise acts and share the stage with a bunch of sick synth bands. Gloves isn't about building quality, it's not about the sound system or t...he beat up bathrooms. It's about giving a space to art that might not have a space otherwise because it is neither funded by moneyed interests nor a vapid desire for rock-stardom. The vast majority of the bands you will see at Gloves are people who just love the excitement of playing music, meeting new people, touring, art. They'll probably even share stories and a beer with you at an after-party, if there is one. See More

I haven't been in sometime, and that's because the last few times have been bad. The last time in particular stuck out to me; after getting out of work late and getting to RG at friend's suggestions, ...I happened to try and buy a drink maybe twenty minutes before 2 a.m., to be told that the bar was closed. I questioned why and she was just rude as fuck about it. She settled and let me have A SHOT, but shit, I wanted a drink and would have tipped if the bar tender hadn't been so rude.

Other than that, the covers are pricey sometimes and I just don't see the same quality of shows compared to maybe 3 years ago.

Hopefully with all this bad publicity, ya'll will fix some of the shit that makes your venue suck. And you can insult me all ya'll want, but it doesn't change that I won't spend my money here and will be honest with my friends about why they shouldn't either.

It's a nice space. Had a really bad experience of the staff that made me super uncomfortable and honestly didn't want to go there again. But they keep bringing good bands so i'll continue to go here. ...But honestly this place does not give me good feelings like most places in the wonderful Denton music scene. See More

Harassment of people who give bad reviews, yelling in people's faces while they talk calmly, and tell people to commit suicide. Class act, I thought I'd seen crap bars in Denton, but at least they tre...at people with respect. Small selection at the bar, and a very gross bathroom. Don't go, thought it was good before, but have seen their true colors. Just older guys screaming and acting like they are more important than everyone else. See More

I've played here multiple times and have always loved it. They treated us with love and respect, pretty good sound, great drink prices and just an all around fun place to be. Just saw the observer wri...te-up and feel you guys are getting a bad rap. With love from your dallas rockers -Daylight Industries See More

Big room, loud music, sweaty grimy people. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, cheap beer and a high chance of broken glass at some point in the night. I don't always go to gloves, but when I do, I... prefer to be drunk. See More

I've come here both as a patron and a performer, and every single time I have a great experience. The entire staff is helpful and friendly, the sound setup is loud and clear, and the entire place has ...a very casual dive-meets-clubhouse atmosphere. Cannot recommend RGRS enough. See More

Easily the best venue in Denton. I've seen so many of my favorite bands play here and it has always been a show to remember. The staff, the crowds, the bar all make for a great experience.

A genuine music venue for real bands that want an honest reaction. No frills. Check your ego at the door or it will be checked for you (and that's a good thing). A good place to get rowdy, polish you...r craft, or just give some hugs. A place where you really get what you give...so don't come expecting to be pampered, discovered or anything other than what you deserve. I cannot say how much I love this place. See More

I'm revising my review from "1" star to "2" stars because they're cool if you do heroine in their bathroom. There's no better venue in Denton than heroine in a disgusting bathroom in between bands.

Always have a great time at this bar ! Seen tons of great bands all while sipping on my favorite beverages at reasonable prices. Plus read the 1 star reviews because you'll see the RGRS don't take no shit

I just walked in a minute ago with my friends (out of state touring artists) who are going to perform (I'm not sure if that'll happen now) and just over a Starbucks strawberry açai "no outside drinks"... turned into an argument. Personally I just couldn't tell if the gentleman in charge was just being sarcastic or serious- but over my 10 years of business experience building relationships with people (in which you don't have to be an expert) but saying "sorry but we cannot allow that" would have been enough. There was no need for the "attitude" I can't even name right now.

I get it, we all have crap going on in our lives, but there's just no need to unload that on other people.

---
Months after I came to realize I forgot to mention this incident happened an hour before the performance started so we could check out what the stage (stage... ehhehehe) looks like and so I know where to set my lights - which this would take only around 10 seconds.

I'm sorry but there's no excuse for the owner to come out like an asshole when I asked something very very politely. I'm not surprised that this crack house y'all call `a performance hall` (let me know if you have never seen one before - I'll be happy to show you `a whole new world` where it does not stink pee and people are not doing cocaine in the back room) is soon closing it's doors.

Am I sorry? Honestly not.

Business owners like this don't deserve to be around when they lack of reply questions with the same polite way and have people like y'all commenting below name calling me. Losers :)

A venue that has always helped cultivate a diverse culture of music and non-music. Rgrs has given numerous artists opportunities, where other venues would turn their nose up at them. At the same time ...having "larger" groups come and play. Keep the institution alive. See More

Rubber Gloves is hands-down one of the best venues in Denton. Gritty, real and unapologetic, they run a tight ship and embody what a good DIY club should be.

Ed Steele, ladies and gentlemen

Local music fans packed a sold-out three day musical weekend at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio and enjoyed thirty-seven bands and inexpensive drinks. Denton music photographer Ed Steele was on hand to capture the fans, bands, tears, and scorpion tattoos which were to be found in abundance.
