Decent food, good service and nice surroundings. One suggestion would be more sensitivity to people on a diabetic diet. I ordered a steak that was flavorful, but a bit on the tough side. When I asked ...for a non starch substitution for potatoes, the only option was a double order of vegetables. See More

Been going there on and off for nearly 40 years, started when Ruth herself was flipping burgers in an electric frying pan with a PallMall in her mouth and a Chihuahua Dog under her other arm. One of a...bout two places an underage kid could go for a burger and a beer.
Things changed Ruth retired, and the trolley was remodeled anice deck added as well as a new house for Ruth out back across the creek, the one thing that never really changed was the quality of the food, breakfast was always better than dinner and if it was served all day it would have been five stars.
One dish I really miss from the 80's was plate of three lamb sliders they called Lamburghini's they were SO GOOD.

Great diner. We loved the setting, the history about the place. Weather permitting, the patio would have been enjoyable.
Service was great! Our waiter, Nick, was patient with our questions and offere...d great choices. The turkey sandwich was very good, as was the chicken teriyaki. The molten chocolate cake was delicious! We'd definitely come back again if we're in the area. See More

We ate lunch here today and they were very busy. We only ordered salads but they were great. The Mike high biscuits that they served us were awesome. We will be going back. Loved the atmosphere and en...joyed reading the story of Ruth. Everyone's orders on the tables beside us looked very appetizing and no one was complaining so I'm a summing they were good. Every restaurant needs a "Millennial's Section" (preferably back in the kitchen) where you can scream all your sentences, clap, sing, text, and stay waaay past your welcome, while other groups are wai...ting for your table. But hey, the food was fantastic, as always! 5 stars, cause telling your patrons to "shut it" is bad for business,I guess. See More

Came in with a group of 25 and I got exactly what I ordered, within 20 mins, and it was amazing how good it was. Staff has a great teamwork. Would recommend all the SLC folk to try it.

Go put your name in, get back in the car and drive the canyon and find the reservoir, drive back to Ruth’s and check back a 5 minute wait!

I absolutely enjoyed eating at Ruth's Diner. I can not wait to go back and sit outside. If you have not been to this lovely diner, do your self a favor and go. You won't be disappointed.

I try to dine at Ruth’s each time I visit SLC! Amazing food and awesome biscuits!! Highly Recommend to all and located in beautiful Emigration Canyon!!

We have always enjoyed coming here! Not for the food, but for their beautiful patio. We ordered the special, crusted Mahi, and it was so salty you couldn't eat it. The guys ordered chicken friend stea...k and Cajun pasta. Their dinners were ok. Our waitress asked us ladies why we hadn't eaten our fish and we explained why. Nothing was offered or done to fix it. We were on our motorcycles and arrived at 8:30 pm. You could tell they were upset that we showed up a half hour before closing on a Sunday evening. Not very friendly and just a push to eat and get out. Their breakfast is much better then their dinner. We will more and likely give them another try because of the atmosphere. We had always wanted to try Ruth's and since we were at the zoo for Mother's day we thought it was about time. I honestly don't get the hype. Service was good other than it took forever to get our f...ood, but I don't blame the server for that. My chicken fried steak was warm at best and included cold mashed potatoes and cold vegetables. My wife's plate was too hot to touch and the potatoes had a crust all over as if they had been sitting under a lamp for a while. Soups were barely warm when they came out. Three of us had chicken fried steak and it was no better than what you can get at Dees but costs nearly twice as much. Great location and great server, but fair to average, overpriced food. See More

I had a turkey avocado sandwich that literally only had avocado on it for 2 bites. For the price, they could have added more avocado. The service was fantastic!

Wanted to give you a heads up that the Ruth's Diner episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is re-running today on the Food Network, if anyone is interested in catching it. It's S5, E4 - "Places You Sent Me." It originally aired in 2008, but it's always fun to see it again! And we'll have biscuits and gravy ready for you in the morning.
