Dan asked for suggestions & got just one so here we go guys!!! Need a little Zumbro training?? We've got you a hill! We'll meet at Mandy's house 6420 Woodland Blvd, MN City 55959 at 6:15pm and run/walk/hike to the bottom of the hill. From there it's 1 mile up hill. On top there are various distances on wide rolling trails (or you can just go up & down the hill. lol) Eventually we head back down the hill and pick a restaurant to do afters.
Have we ever snowshoed at Gamehaven?? I can't recall. From the talk last night, there will be some runners and maybe some snowshoers next Tuesday. Meet at the little parking lot at 6:15pm and join us for some fun! Roosters 2 for afters!
Oh how I wish it were warm for Bill Barnacle! Fortunately there is that old saying which is SO true: Tuesdays never suck with this group!!
Therefore we will meet at 6:15pm at the Marion, MN Minocco gas station on hwy 52 and car pool out to Bill Barnacle state woodland. You may snowshoe; you may run. Plan to have fun!
Afters will be determined by the group who shows up.
Dan Valentine, wouldn't this be a fun and awesome Winona event? Snowshoe or run Holzinger (or any other amazing trail) and then go here and another cool Winona place for drinks/dinner??
We are excited to announce Second Saturdays, a new monthly community event at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. Every second Saturday, March through October, wil...l feature $1 admission and special events such as themed tours, art-making projects, artist demonstrations and more. All this is made available through an arts access grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
As promised...WHITEWATER!!! Snowshoe, hike, or run...just make sure to come join the fun! Meet at the Nature Center (store) parking lot at 6:15pm on Tuesday Jan 30. Not sure where our route will take us but we will end up at Mauer Brothers! We ♥ that place!
Helpful map & more information including clever intro by Dan if you'd like to check out the official event.
Chester Woods was beautiful for our snowshoe last night! We got a great work out, had a lot of fun, and even made some new friends! And the new taco afters place was pretty yummy too.
Sounds like next week is another favorite: Whitewater! Check back toward the end of the week for details.
I've heard rumors that they won't be sending us up the salad bar trail which is steep & never ending. No we don't race this. It's just a beautiful trail made more fun when friends show up. I know a few of us in Winona do this each year.
Who's in for tacos??! Ok first we're going to do a little running or hiking or snowshoeing at Chester Woods but then we're going to El Carambas for afters (and tacos!!). I'm not sure which I'm more excited for!
Meet in the beach house parking lot at 6:15pm Jan 23. We'll do our miles & then head out for tacos!
Look at this cutie!! Dan says it'll be too cold for them to be out at Quarry Hill on the 16th but we can still have fun. Meet at the tennis court parking lot at the back of Quarry Hill and we'll do a few miles on the trails. Run, hike, snowshoe, whatever..It's all good among friends. And then we'll do that afters thing that we all love!
Hoping to get the rest of the shirt to their owners next week! Plan to come to the run or afters or give me a heads up how we can make this happen!
Where is Rush City? This is super reasonable & this reminds me of Lost Creek from the description. Half marathon or 6.6 mile. East Central MN. I could be sucked in to this one.

Definitely need to up my Christmas running attire! What a fun group we had tonight! Thanks to Dan for organizing, to Jeff for his awesome garage hospitality, and to everyone else for showing up & making the Friday night amazing!
Oh MAN!! That nasty cold stuff will be coming in by next Tuesday. It reminds me of another time at Willow Creek where high winds and cold forced the 5-6 of us tough enough to show up to walk just 2 miles and call early afters. We had extra long afters with awesome laughs at Fat Willy's. Tuesdays never suck.
Let's not let it ruin our Tuesday outing this time either! Willow Creek Reservoir is maybe not the favorite of our places BUT short loops mean you can run as long or short as you want. You can also elect to really bundle up & just walk. Go ahead & do an out & back skipping the dam. Really won't it be good to just move after a big dinner the day before??? Meet at 6:15pm at our usual spot shown below. Afters decided by those who brave the cold!
What a fun night we had on the Lost Creek hiking trail!! Love this group! At Jac's for afters we found a new favorite taco bar. Wish I could tell you where next Tuesday will be but most of the talk was about Friday's Christmas light run in Winona. It will be an easy stop & go run in town on the roads as we check out pretty lights. Sounds like 1-2 cars are coming down. Should be fun!!
Dan may make the final call on where we go but it's often a group input deal. The call this week was for Lost Creek Hiking trail in Chatfield. This well marked trail is a point to point meaning plan for 6.2 miles. If you need less, shorter routes can be arranged BEFORE we leave for nine bark road. Once we're at the trail head you are in for the full distance. Meet at Groen Park in Chatfield (across from Mill park) at 6:15pm and we will car pool to the trail head. Jac's for afters!!
Old Favorite trail/New Afters place! Root River County park is a favorite for many reasons but what makes this park fun is that it's a nearly 2 mile loop which everyone runs as they see fit! Some will go one way, others start the other way, some will do 2 loops, some will do 3. What you have is a mostly sheltered run along the river with an uphill & a downhill for fun and lots of friends passing/meeting/chatting along the way as the trail is wide enough to run 2-3 across. Meet at 6:15pm on Dec 12 in the parking lot and find out how fun we are to run with. And afters at Roosters Too (or Two?) near Fat Willys.
