“Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen. ~ The Book of Common Prayer
From Fr. Greg Hoover: Tomorrow I am going to be a traditionalist/rebel and wear blue on St. Patrick's Day. My reasons are that the earliest images of St. Patrick show him wearing blue garments, and when George III created the Order of St. Patrick, its official color was a sky blue, known as "St. Patrick's Blue." Also, several pieces of art show Patrick wearing blue vestments (see below). And even today, members of Ireland's St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir still wear robes of St. Patrick’s blue. So I'm going to wear blue. I just hope I don't get pinched!
