Just on the outside chance Lady Aurora decided to make an appearance, I did a time lapse last night (3/19/18). This is just over 650 photos shot over 3 1/2 hours. The northern lights did show (very weak though) around the 16 second mark, but you really have to squint to see them...lol! But even with virtually no Northern Lights, I love watching the earths rotation. And yes, I watch Star Trek every week on ME TV!!! Kevin Lee
Having so much fun watching the Waxwings. Smaller flock came through yesterday, but still quite a few. In between sucking down berries, they would drop down to spots opening up in the river for a quick drink. After watching them about an hour or so, they all just took off. Made a heck of a commotion! Maybe to just take an afternoon siesta?. Or sun themselves? They went to the top of a tree about 100 yards away and just sat there until I left. No berries on that tree either. Heard a Robin, but did not see it. Get outside folks, it's wonderful! Kevin Lee
The waxwings sure come and go. The single bird photos are from a couple days ago when I only saw a hand full. Yesterday, one heck of a flock showed up. I would say close to 200. There was just no way I could get them all in one shot with my telephoto lens. Not even close! Haven't seen any today. Also, Thursday the 15th is the last day of walleye and pike season on the Bays de Nocs. It will re-open May 15th. Should see some great perch fishing between now and then! Kevin Lee
Spring is getting closer. Love the color brown this time of year!!!
Holy Waxwings Batman!!! Stumbled across the biggest flock of Bohemian and Cedar Waxwings today that I have ever seen. Well over 100. Don't think I ever got all of them in one shot. For the most part, they all moved in unison too. How do they know how to do that? As I have said before, get outside folks, it's beautiful out there! Kevin Lee
My little buddy (the pheasant) is still hanging around. Making a darn mess of the trail we walk our dogs on. Apparently pheasants poop a lot! Of course, our dogs think it's a delicacy... And for about a week now, something has been knocking lots of berries off the trees. I didn't know if it was grouse or what, but I finally caught them in the act. Turns out the culprits are Cedar Waxwings. I think Cedar Waxwings are a beautiful bird and have always had a soft spot for them in my heart. When I was a young boy, I came across an injured one and kept it in a box and fed it pin cherries. Couple days later, it flew off! Get outside folks, it beats the heck out of TV!!! Kevin Lee

Just this past weekend, we drove 1,300 miles, walked 68,640 feet, and had the time of our life exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Here is a video we put tog...ether of our U.P. tour called, "I Love Michigan's Upper Peninsula." We want to thank Michigan Awesome, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and Pure Mitten Pride for allowing us to take over their social media platforms for the weekend!
