Hey guys! Sorry for the last minute heads up - for anyone interested, I'm hanging out at a Facebook launch party this evening with a whole bunch of cool authors. The book is Last Stand, the third and final book in Rachel E. Carter's "The Black Mage" series (the first two I have read and can vouch for its awesomeness). The FB launch party is from 4:00pm - 7:00pm PT here: https://www.facebook.com/events/693015820860612
Another chapter in my new steampunk book! In a week! It's a record! https://www.wattpad.com/325723599-genius-untitled-part-2
I've been feeling really stressed/overwhelmed the last few months because of my job and upcoming wedding (next month! eep), and have had a really hard time finding time/motivation to write. So I'm giving myself a sort-of break to regain my writing mojo: I'm giving myself the rest of October and November to work on a new book outside the Paladin world, just for the fun of it. I have a story in my brain that keeps getting in the way every time I try to write Uriel, so I figure I might as well go with it. Anyway, this is all to say that no, I'm not dead, I'm slowly writing Uriel but focusing for the next month-and-a-half (aka Nanowrimo time!) for some low-pressure, purely fun writing. Feel free to take a peek at my new story here: https://www.wattpad.com/322777671-genius-chapter-1
Oh hey, I'm alive! And writing! Check out this preview of my cover for my upcoming contribution to the Sunkissed Fantasy Anthology! (Made by the very talented Lucy Rhodes - you can check out cover porn on her website: http://www.rendercompose.com/). Story comes out on Friday! You can read some of the other contributions here: https://www.wattpad.com/244488572-sun-kissed-a-fantasy-anth…
To celebrate the anniversary of Paladin being offish published, it's on sale for 99 cents! If you haven't grabbed a copy, grab one now (oh and I swear I'm working on the sequel...): goo.gl/EOPl9A
Non-writing update: I ended up going to the animal hospital late last night for my puppy, Ollie. He threw up a whole bunch of times and was having neurological issues (kept bumping into things and was just generally lethargic). Happy to say he is doing MUCH better today, and man, to all the vets out there, I don't know how you do it. The animal hospital (as is the human ER) is a scary and depressing place. In the room next to me, a grown man was crying because he found out his dog might die (he had to pay for a $15K surgery that STILL didn't guarantee his dog would live).
Woof. Seriously never having kids. That was enough stress.
I wrote a thing! In honor of Goosebumps' DVD release, I wrote about what scared me as a kid (in scary story format...note that I'm easily scared so what scared me may not be scary to you). Check it out on Goosebumps' Wattpad profile, here: https://www.wattpad.com/208362307-what-scared-you-as-a-chil…
Aaaand I actually wrote some Uriel! Huzzah!
Writing update: I wrote 20 words last night, and then fell asleep on top of my computer. Writer fail. The next chapter of Uriel will DEFINITELY be finished this weekend! 2016 is the year of commitment!
Paladin update: So, awesomely enough, Paladin is up for Underground Book Review's 2015 Novel of the Year. It's a HUGE honor. If you'd like to vote for Paladin, you can do so here: http://www.undergroundbookreviews.org/vote-for-the-2016-no…/
So, you might be wondering where the heck I've been for the past couple months (good question!). Planning to write a blog post about this at some point, but long story short, life still gets in the way of writing even after you're a published author. And you still get writer's block. And hate everything you write. Whomp, whomp.
Here's a very quick summary of everything that's been happening (some of which you already know)
1) I'm getting married! My engagement party is in a ...couple weeks...eep! I'll also be going wedding dress shopping at the end of the month. Oh, and my current thinking is that I'll walk down the aisle to the Game of Thrones theme song.
2) I got a dog! His name is Ollie (full name, Sir Olivier of Bigglyshire) and he is the cutest ever (pic below). He is a rescue pup and a ton of work, but I love him. You can follow him on Insta at @OlivierofBigglyshire
3) My new job (I work in PR/marketing) is challenging and intellectually stimulating. I often work 12+ hour days! Currently working on finding a better balance so I can get some more writing in.
4) I'm finally re-inspired to work on Uriel again! Expect an updated chapter on Wattpad by the end of the weekend. FINALLY!
Miss you all and thanks so much for being patient with me.
Wow, it's been a month since I've posted! Bad author Sally. My only excuse(s) are that I'm planning a wedding, working like a crazy woman, and I got an adorable new puppy (*brief plug: following my puppy on insta! @oliverofbigglyshire). I have vowed to get back into writing November, December, etc., so I don't fall super duper far behind on my sequel and prequel writing plans.
In the meantime, wanted to let all the audiobook fans out there know that the Paladin audiobook is available TODAY! If you have an Audible subscription, you can get it for free, or you can buy the CD for $29.99. Link here:

So much good news today! A lovely review from the Librarian in Periwinkle blog (love when librarians review my books because then Paladin winds up in libraries!).
Also Paladin is currently #143 in the Amazon Kindle store! If it breaks the top 100 I will die (of happiness/shock of course).
The 99 cent sale is lasting through Tuesday, October 6 and is running in the U.S., U.K., Australia and India. Take advantage while you can! ...
