We got married at Salterns on Saturday and had the most perfect day! Carrie, Catherine and their team ensured that every moment of our day ran smoothly and were flexible and helpful throughout. The ce...remony outside on the lawn was beautiful and Carrie and Catherine dressed the chairs perfectly. They were so flexible with how we decorated the reception room and nothing was too much trouble for them. We couldn't have asked for more. Usually a wonderful place for a nice meal at any time,felt rushed at lunchtime by staff waiting to finish work,fish tacos were very soggy with masses of olive oil-I asked to take my meal home as obvio...usly unwelcome lunch guests and reluctantly handed some ripped off tin foil to wrap the food up in!not a joyful experience at all! Booked a table and arrived at the restaurant at 7:20 and ordered a bottle of wine. There was only a table of 4 and us at the time so not busy in the slightest. It gets to 8pm and our order had yet to ...be taken. A large table then comes in, of around 10. They order straight away and their starters come out within 10 minutes. I goes up to the bar instead of waiting anymore and ask the barman if I can order some food. He said sit down and we will be with you shortly we are just very busy. I told him you weren’t an hour ago when we arrived to which he brushed it off. Another half an hour goes by and we give up, I speak to the same chump who I asked if I could order food 30 minutes previously and ask him if we could pay for our wine to which he gives us a bill for food and a pint of bitter coming to £30?! What a pleasure to book a Christmas Party for a group of over 70 with Cassie. Any query or problem I had she responded immediately.

From beginning to end it was a great evening, the food was smashin...g, the staff managed to serve each table very quickly, consequently the food was hot and all the courses looked super.

A great size room, with plenty of atmosphere and it was even better, once the tables were cleared, we could all stay there when the disco started. The dance floor was heaving, an absolute blast.

A big thanks to all the staff, especially to those behind the scenes.

Have a feeling we will be booking for next Christmas.

I went with my 2 children and my 90 year old father yesterday for lunch. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. The Salterns always deliver, would highl...y recommend. See More

Had a lovely evening with friends, nice venue, staff helpful and friendly. Lovely presseco. My friends meals looked ok, they had steak. I had fish and chips. My meal was very poor. Small piece of fish..., small vase of tasteless luke warm chips and a spoonful of cold hard peas. I would have sent it back but we'd waited so long i needed to eat something. I wont be eating there again for sure but if i was passing on i might pop in for a glass on the decking overlooking the bay. See More

Really disappointed! Been a few times! Went the other evening for my grandaughters 10 th bday ! My lingini was meant to be a creamy, it looked like noodles ! Friendly staff, great service. Brilliant breakfast, and our dinner at the restaurant gets 5*'s. Only reason for not giving 5* is due to Hotel being quite dated, and the noise levels we experienced at ...night from other guests moving about. Can't fault the hospitality and food quality. See More

Came for breakfast today. 2-1 great way to get people in so quite busy. Terrible service we ate our cooked breakfast before we got our drinks and before our 5yr old finally got her croissant , which t...he girl picked up with her hands not the tongs!!!! Breakfast was like warm to cold! No one knew which meal went to which table and several people made legitimate complaints! Girl behind the bar really didn't have a clue which led to several people extremely unhappy and others demanding refunds. We won't be returning even though we have come here for years! We booked this hotel last minute as we were visiting family. We were given a room with a brilliant view, clean and spacious, but maybe lacking a bit of flair. We were joined for dinner by son and dau...ghter in law, and found the food and service excellent. Breakfast too was very good, all cooked well and served by friendly staff. As we regularly visit Poole we would certainly consider using this hotel again. See More

We came on Sunday 21st August for dinner to celebrate our son's 18 birthday.
Lynn and the team looked after us really well. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. In addition Lynn org...anised for the chef to decorate my son's desert plate with a special message ... Such a thoughtful gesture, thank you �

Shocking service! Brought the wrong order firstly which the waiter/work experience boy insisted was ours despite us very gently insisting that wasn't what we ordered, then our starter arrived after ou...r mains.
