Jay Tempelton and Mark Kuhnhausen of the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga, and Napa Valley reminding everyone what the Auction means to so many non-profits in our communities. The Napa Valley Vintners have donated $2 million to the two clubs for their current capital giving campaigns for new facilities in American Canyon and Calistoga this year alone . Since 1981, the NVV has granted more than $145 million to healthcare, youth development, and affordable housing. So proud to be a part of both the Napa Valley Vintners and the Upvalley Boys and Girls Club. #anv2015
I had a great time last week pouring the Saunter 2012 Eagle Summit Vineyard CS at the Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica! Wines are tasting great and definitely benefit from a few hours in a decanter before drinking.
We certainly don't mind being grouped with these amazing wine brands!
So honored to receive 95 pts from Robert Parker for all three of our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignons! The 2012 Swagger is sold out but you can sign up on our mailing list to receive the offering for the Eagle Summit and Red Head Clone 685 wines to be offered in January.
2012 Saunter Eagle Summit Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
A beautiful effort, the dense ruby/purple-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Eagle Summit exhibits sweet mulberry, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with ...graphite and plenty of minerality. Medium to full-bodied with superb purity and texture as well as a long, concentrated mouthfeel, this super 2012 can be enjoyed over the next 12-15 years. ~ Robert Parker TWA #215
2012 Saunter Red Head Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 685
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Head Vineyard Clone 685 reveals plum, blackberry and cassis aromas along with sweet, concentrated fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and terrific purity and palate presence. A stunningly good, complex wine, it boasts wonderfully sweet tannins and a long finish. It should be consumed over the next 12-15 years.

2012 Swagger Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
A gorgeous effort showing Thomas Brown’s impeccable touch is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Swagger. Beautiful notes of crème de cassis, blueberries, blackberries, spring flowers and forest floor emerge from this complex, full-bodied, layered stunner. Drink now-2028. ~ Robert Parker TWA #215
We would like to thank everyone for their emails, calls, texts, and facebook inquiries since the earthquake hit early Sunday morning! We are so fortunate to be able to say that our family and wines are unharmed. Our hearts go out to the many friends and wineries who have had significant damage and loss. It is truly heartbreaking to see the destruction. It never ceases to amaze us, however, the amazing cohesion of our close-knit community and industry. There are countless stories of friend helping friend, neighbor helping neighbor, and stranger helping stranger. We are so very lucky.
Treat yourself to the wines from 27 Howell Mountain wineries at the our Spring Tasting in San Francisco, Wednesday, March 19 from 5-7 p.m. at the Bently Reserve, 301 Battery Street. Purchase advance tickets at $75 until March 18 at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/540882
