Sweet Stella couldn't stop wagging her tail during her vet exam today! This sweet dog-friendly 1 year old pup is looking for a home where she will be loved forever. Email to meet her or stop by our adoption day Sunday 12:30-3@ Animal Clinic of Morris Plains to meet her!
Little Jedi loves the snow too! This 2 year old chi mix is super friendly and playful and will be a lot of fun for an active home. Email if you are interested
Shy little pup Carrie is quickly coming out of her shell and starting to wag her tail! This 6 month old Doxie mix is recovering from an injury to her eyelid but doing well and almost ready for a home. She would do well in a calmer adult home with a friendlier social dog to learn from as she adjusts to a home. Email if you are interested. She is about 15lbs and won't get much bigger, and is spayed and updated on shots.

Second Chance Pet Adoption League is the most awesome rescue. They don't pick and choose their dogs on the "adoptable" factor but instead save so many dogs in dire need of medical and age plays no fa...ctor in their decision. They also save so many wonderful seniors who would never have a chance at a second life and concentrate on local shelters within the state of NJ as well as surrenders. That's what I call a true rescue. I've adopted 3 of my dogs from here and one cat back in the day from this rescue and they have been the best pets I have ever rescued and owned. I couldn't rate them more highly! They are the best! See More

We adopted our Benji a few years back from these amazing folks and he is the light of our lives. He came to us as a senior dog that was difficult to place but has become the center of our family. Seco...nd Chance Pet Adoption deserves all the support in the world! See More

We have 3 incredible pups adopted from Second Chance!

Please share Pepsi and let's find her a home!!!
We had 2 little fluffy dogs go viral last week and had 50+ inquiries on them, now our sweet old lady wants people fighting over who gets to adopt her! Can you help?

Pepsi is one of those dogs that can get anyone to fall in love with her. She would make a great therapy dog and sits and puts her head in the lap of everyone who takes the time to pet her. Pepsi is about 11 years old and 50lbs, some type of shepherd/husky/collie h...ybrid. She's housebroken, easy to walk, and a perfect well mannered lady. Unfortunately since she doesn't like to share a home with other animals she has been stuck in boarding for a while, since all our foster homes have multiple other dogs. She's fine walking past dogs and can get along with some, just doesn't like sharing her space with other animals in a home. She loves humans of all ages and would be fine living with respectful children.
Pepsi is located in northern NJ and is looking for a foster or forever home immediately! Please email if you would like to meet her. Please share this post-it just takes the one right person to see her face and take her home!

Our puppy mill bichon Whitney is still available! This timid but sweet girl is adjusting to life outside a cage. She loves other dogs and gets happy and playful around them, and is looking for a patient adult home with at least one other friendly dog to help her feel more comfortable. Email and send an application if you are interested. Whitney is about 5 years old and has been spayed, updated on shots, and tested heartworm negative.

Where are all the chihuahua lovers?!

As usual we have quite a few little chi and chi mix with a wide range of unique looks, ages, and personalities! As the second most euthanized breed in shelters across the country, we are always bombarded with requests to take in these adorable but misunderstood little dogs. Please email if you are interested in any of them or stop by our adoption day Sunday 12:30-3@ Animal Clinic of Morris Plains to get to know some of them....

And our senior shepherd mix Pepsi kind of looks like a 50lb chihuahua, doesn't she? She often wishes she was a chihuahua so more people would let her sit on their laps and carry her around! She loves human attention and has a wonderful disposition, just needs to be the only pet. Email to meet or stop by Sunday to let her charm her way into your heart!

Meet our "antique" Schnauzer Susie! This almost 16 year old was surrendered when her owner needed to leave a bad living situation. She is a mellow sweet older lady, fine with other gentle non-aggressive dogs and looking for someone to love her for whatever time she has left. She is adjusting surprisingly well in her foster home and gets into a routine quickly. Email if you are interested

Meet the new and improved Winston!!!

This 18 month old jack Russell mix was the most terrified of all the dogs rescued from a hoarding case in NJ last year. He would hide in terror from any humans and panic if touched. After 6 months of giving him time and space, socializing with friendlier dogs and letting him approach on his terms Winston has finally decided to enjoy human attention! When he used to plaster himself under a chair if we brought him to adoption days, now he actually seeks out attention from volunteers. He can still be nervous at first in new situations and is looking for a calmer adult home with at least one other friendly doggie to help him adjust. Email to meet him

Whiskers and Luna are adorable little girls left behind when their owner was evicted. Whiskers is a 6 year old scruffy terrier mix, and Luna is an 8-10 year old chihuahua mix, both 10-15lbs. They are nervous at first but warm up quickly and then love to cuddle, and get along with other dogs. Email if you are interested in these cute little girls.

Meet Penny! This sweet senior was brought to an NJ shelter when her owner passed away, and slated to be euthanized due to her age and medical condition. She has some neurological issues with her back legs and is a bit wobbly but gets around pretty well and is a happy friendly girl with a lot of life left in her! She's about 12 years old, 30lbs, and looks like a shepherd/whippet mix? Penny gets along with other dogs and is a sweetheart! Email if you are interested in meeting her.
And of course, our other senior Pepsi is popping into Penny's post to remind you she still hasn't found a home...she loves all humans and will make a wonderful companion in a home without any other pets. Email to meet her or stop by our adoption day Sunday 12:30-3 @ Animal Clinic of Morris Plains

Best buddies Gabby and Cody were reunited and adopted together! Plus puppy mill bichon Wasabe went to her new home today! We still have Whitney the other shy but sweet 5 year old bichon girl available and looking for a calmer home with at least one other friendly dog. And of course our sweet senior Pepsi is still waiting for someone with no other pets to finally notice to meet any of our dogs

Laci is an adorable 5 year old shih tzu/Doxie mix surrendered because she wasn't accepting the new baby in the household and wanted all her mom's attention to herself. She is a sweet little girl who will make a lovable loyal companion in a home where she won't have to worry about young kids stealing your if you are interested.

Meet Winona! This scared little girl was homeless living on their streets for a while. She very timid but starting to warm up and trust us and seems to like other dogs. Our vet believes her to be about 6-7 years old and is only 35-40lbs full grown, we think a mix of shepherd, pit, cattle dog...??? We are still getting to know her but she will be looking for a calmer adult home where she can feel safe. Email if you are interested

Our adorable toothless Wizard the chi is adjusting well to life outside the puppy mill! He is warming up to everyone in his foster home- cats, dogs, and people- and getting used to wearing his belly band to prevent accidents. And he even has his first hoodie;). He loves to be held and is a sweet little guy, we think about 7 years old. Email if you are interested.
And our sweet senior Pepsi still needs a home or foster too! A few lookers but no takers for her at today's adoption day...she loves humans of all ages, just needs to be your only pet.

Our special little girl Wafer is recovering nicely from her bladder stone surgery and even got a nice makeover:). She is getting treated for a UTI and on a special diet to help prevent any bladder stones from recurring. She is a sweet little older girl who craves attention and deserves to be pampered.
Thank you to those who have donated toward her surgery so far! We are still in of donations toward her extensive medical bills so we can continue to help other urgent cases... like Wafer...

Your donations help us save dogs like Pepsi too, who originally came to us from a crowded NJ shelter needing heartworm treatment and other medical care. Thanks to your support, Pepsi has completed her heartworm treatment and is a healthy happy girl who just needs one more thing- a foster or forever home where she can be your only pet! Email to help her achieve her dream.
