The 1961 Shattuck Baseball Team. Though Townes Van Zandt was just a junior, he was one of 2 standout pitchers utilized in a disappointing 3-7 season.
The loss of senior leaders Phillips, Williams and Fitzner will hurt, but the team retains several up and comers, including Van Zandt, Niederhauser and power hitters Melander and Miller.

Established to remember those members of the SSM Staff, Faculty and Administration who have gone before us, but will never be forgotten.
Three Distinguished SMH Hall of Famers, all wearing their gold crosses: Pamela Bedford Whitaker '64 (1994); Martha Robbins Black HON (1992); and Mary Lou Wood Lamain '63 (1994).
Photo taken summer of 2012, shortly before Mrs. Black's death on July 12, 2012. Four years later, on September 17, 2016, Mary Lou Lamain lost her hard-fought battle with cancer. Both ladies will be dearly missed.
