This is Jacob's sister, Bella. Foster Mom is Gail Rosen. Will try to get our website and Petfinder updated soon. Expect these fur babies to be available in the next couple of weeks.
Star found a wonderful new home, but had to come back for emergency surgery last Friday evening. Seems her foster Dad left a small pot holder where Star could reach it and she swallowed it! This holder eventually worked its way through the stomach and blocked food from passing to the intestines. After surgery she is her normal happy self but needs to gain some weight back. Poor girl went from 22 lbs to 15 before we found the problem. BAD Foster Dad......
Star will go back to her new home nest week after the stitches from the surgery are removed.
Got two female Merles into foster homes last week, still evaluating and vetting them. Will get some pics out soon.
Star is back with her foster Dad; we have learned she is more comfortable with other dog buddies than by herself. Also, we are checking into possible weak hearing in one ear. Will keep all posted as we learn more. In the meantime, she is having a good time with her Sheltie brothers and sisters at foster Dad's home.
Blaze and Star have found new furever homes! Blaze is 100% happy in his new home and with Sheltie Brothers and Sisters. Star has her fondest wish as the only dog, but she shares the home with a BIG cat. So far the two are getting along just fine! s
Two fosters under heartworm treatment are doing fine. Blaze (male) and Star (female) will soon reach day 28 of 120 day protocol. Today we got a new girl! 8 months old and weighs 8.5 lbs; will be a tiny ball of energy!!! She needs all shots, a thorough exam and spay before she can be available. Watch this page and our web site for updates on all these by the end of next week.
Got two new fosters Friday that were strays near Cleveland, TN. Both have been updated on all shots, spay/neuter. Both are also Heartworm positive so we start a 3-4 month treatment protocol this week. They are about 5-6 years old and very sweet personalities. A bit shy at first, but warm to foster Dad quickly. Will get pics posted soon.
New foster here yesterday evening. Belle is 11 and 1/2 and has a very large mass on left side of stomach that has to be removed. She is a real sweetheart, getting along well with my two males after an initial discussion with my 10 yr old male. At her age, she may just have found her furever home. Photos coming soon. She has been shaved due to terrible coat matting.
One of my fosters, Charlie, went to his new forever home this morning. Charlie will be 3 in February and just finished a long 6 month treatment for heartworm. I now have 3 Shelties: 16 yr old Prince, 9 Yr-old Shiloh and 8 yr- old Buddy. Buddy came here after almost 8 years in a crate at a Puppy Mill. He has made great progress and actually played with his brothers several weeks ago. First time in his life he has played tag with other dogs! Shiloh is probably a forever foster due to a weird food-related behavior. Ready for the next one.....
Another year gone, hard to believe! Dec. 24th was three years since my wife lost her battle to cancer. Holidays have a different feel now, 15 years ago Brenda and I started working with rescue and what a journey it has been and continues. I know in my heart that Brenda is watching over the bridge from above and thanking all in rescue for their work. Larry East Tennessee Sheltie Rescue
We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. With your help and support we've been able to help a lot of Shelties this year. Many of them are now in wonderful forever homes. There has been a lot of happy tail wagging and sloppy, but welcome, doggie kisses. Thanks to all of you and again Meryy Christmas!!!!
