Last week I purchased a complete 30 gallon aquarium set-up from Something Fishy. I couldn't be more pleased! It was a great value for the price I paid, and the set-up came with everything I needed. Ke...ith, the manager, was great and very helpful.

While we were there, we took a look at their selection of fish. All the tanks were all well-maintained and the fish all looked healthy. Nice selection too. We'll definitely go back and purchase our fish there once the water in my fish tank has aged a little bit longer and is ready to accept fish.

The only complaint I have is that the Mall where Something Fishy is located doesn't show them on their Mall Directory. It was the first time we had been to that Mall and we specifically went there to check out Something Fishy. We almost left without visiting Something Fishy because the directory didn't show the store being located in the Mall. The only reason we found the store was because I happened to walk past it looking for a public restroom. Other than that, I highly recommend that you visit Something Fishy if you are an aquarium/tropical fish enthusiast. Great place.

Yesterday I had the worse costumer service experience while buying RO water here. Something I have been doing for years. Keith, I think he's the manager, was visibly annoyed to provide this service. H...e asked if I had larger containers than the 25 one gallon jugs I brought. When I said no he informed me that he would have to charge me more because it was so labor intensive, a dollar per instead of $0.75 each. I agreed even though I could buy distilled water for that price at any supermarket, in new, clean, dry, sealed jugs.

When I got home I tested the water with my TDS meter and found that the total dissolved solids read between 8 and 12 parts per million in every gallon. Of course I called to complain and advise them to change their filters. This is when I got some real attitude from Keith. He thought he should talk over me, telling me about his RO system and that his meter disagreed. He eventually said I should come back in to get my money back and to please never buy water there again. You don't have to worry about that, I'll not be going back there.

This is not the same store it was when they were in Scotia. They used to be hobbyist friendly. Whether you were shopping for fish, or equipment or just getting your jugs filled with RO, you could talk with the staff or other hobbyists about equipment, different species' needs or water chemistry. Now the staff will ignore you while you get bumped around by the mall gawkers in a narrow over crowded store.

No, I don't feel any need to go back there. Not when there are other aquarium stores in the area that welcome enthusiasts.

Visited 12/11/15. Well stocked store, both with products and varieties of fresh and saltwater fish. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff was able to answer all my questions and give a lot of helpful ...advice(e.g. What clown fish are best with what anemones). They seem to have the usual fish youd see at other places, but seem to get very excited to carry specialty fish. All fish look healthy and well cared for. Pricing was very competitive as well. I've had wonderful experiences with this store. I'm new to the fish hobby and I needed some plants for my tank. They counseled me on what plants were best for my tank and asked about my setup to help ...pick the perfect ones. Because of the storm tomorrow I wasn't sure when I could come in and pick them up so he let me pick them up after hours since he was there. Another time I needed an assassin snail to clear out a snail infestation. When I was done with it they were happy to take it off my hands which saved me the trouble of re-homing a snail. Thank you Something Fishy! See More

the other day my heater in my 90 gallon tank died. I could loose everything in my tank if I don't get another heater soon.
so I call all the fish stores in a 60 mile range. Healthy pets center, Un...ion aquarium LLC, Somthing Fishy, Bensons pet center, Petsmart, Petco, and Eddies Aquarium. Only one of them carries a heater large enough. Thanks Eddies Aquarium for being the only fish store that carries large fish tank heaters in stock. the rest of you suck for not even keeping large heaters in stock. they all said we can order you one it will be in in on Wednesday. my heater died on Friday. so six day with no heat in my tank. everything would definitely be dead. why would I order it from a local fish store and have to wait for it to come in then drive and go get it, when I could order it on line for a lower price and its delivered to my house. all things like heaters and pumps up to a 250 gallon tank that keep you tank alive should be carried by local fish stores. eddies aquarium is the only in this area See More
