Good evening furiends & friends. It is timer fur the weather report brought to you by ME!! Sparkle, Meteorologist fur Paradise Valley. It was a very nice day today with a high of 47. A bit windy though. Now, at 6:45 p.m. it is 41 with a wind chill of 34. The low is to be 26. Tomorrow the high is expected to be 44 with a low of 26. Darn! We sure wish those night time temps would warm up!! Thee End...
There was a guest Pastor at church this a.m. from Kalispell, Mt. He sang &... his wife played the keyboard. He has a very good voice, & 'Mom' said he delivered a powerful sermon about how Christians need to get out & talk to people about Jesus!! That is very true. 'Mom' is a bit shy about it, but she is working on that.
Raven is already poking 'Mom's shoulder fur treats, & he ate a purrty good supper, & it is not even 7 p.m. yet!! He's really pushing it.
Now FIrestar is only peeing a little bit at a time, & she scooches her butt on the floor when she is done. 'Mom' is giving her cranberry juice with vinegar & water. She hopes she doesn't have to call the vet to get antibiotics fur her! She doesn't know what in the world is going on!! Furst Raven, then Abby, now FIrestar! She got 3 bags of cat food that were on sale at Petsmart about 3 weeks ago, & mixed 2 bags in with the other food. Salmon is the furst ingredient & it has other good stuff in it, so she doesn't know what could be the problem!
She is going to check my notes now & then give us our treats so Raven doesn't wear a hole in her shirt poking at her. Giggle...Sweet butterfly dreams furiends & friends!! ((( )))
Your favfurite Meteorologist, Sparkle here with the weather report fur today. It was a purrty nice day with not much of a wind & the high was 42. Now, at 7:30 p.m. it is 37 with a wind chill of 31. As you can tell by that, the wind has picked up quite a bit. The low is to be 25. When I was looking out my window it started to snow. We got 13 1/2 flakes!!!! Honest!! Giggle... Tomorrow the high will be 43 with a low of 26. Thee End...
Everybody has finished eating, & it is pas...t 7:30 & Raven has not reminded 'Mom' fur our treats!!! Oops...spoke too soon. Here he comes! Be right back.. There...we all got our treats. /Mom/ has decided that she is going to boil turkey necks fur treats fur Sonic, Raven, Takoda, & Abby. They should not be having the whisker lickins, & 'Mom' does NOT want them to get sick again!!! Sonic & Abby will eat the good treats 'Mom' got fur them, but not the other 2! Persnickety cats!!! 'Course, I am sort of fussy about what I eat, too. Usually if I see 'Mom' eat it, then I will, too.
Tomorrow 'Mom' gets to go to church again. She sure does love that!! Then on Monday, she will change 25% of the water in the fish tank & give them another dose of fungus meds. It is almost all gone, but she wants to make sure it is ALL gone! Auntie Jody & she looked all over here & Bozeman fur an adapter to fit on the bathroom sink, so she can hook the aquarium hose to it & fill the tank that way, & they could not find any at all! So she will have to use a bucket again to put more water in after the change. She is going to check my notes & visit family pages, then clean litter boxes & give us our nip before she goes to bed. Sweet butterfly dreams furiends & friends!! ((( )))
Well, this darn old weather report is brought to you by Sparkle, Meteorologist fur Paradise Valley. We didn't get any snow out here, but Bozeman & Bozeman Pass got snow & rain, & the roads were bad so Auntie Jody did not get to come today!! The high today was 45, & now at 7 p.m. it is 39 with a wind chill of 33. The low is to be 30. Tomorrow the high is to be 46 with a low of 24. Spring...WHERE ARE YOU!!!?? Thee End...
Phooey...we sure were looking forward to Auntie Jody c...oming! But maybe it is a good thing cause 'Mom's back was giving her fits today, & she woke up about 5:30 & couldn't get back to sleep. She laid down at 3, but couldn't go to sleep then either. That means she will get a good sleep tonight! That's what were praying fur anyway.
She did her devotions, then dust mopped the living room floors, did dishes, laid down, got up & fed us our supper.. It is not time fur treats yet. Raven will let her know! She is having leftover turkey rice soup. She said she could probably live on that!
She is going to check my notes now, so I wish all my furiends & friends sweet butterfly dreams!! ((( )))
Sparkle, Meteorologist fur Paradise Valley here with the weather report. Today the high was 57!!! Nice...very nice & NO wind!! It is 36 right now & the low is to be 36 with a 60% chance of rain tonight. Tomorrow will be much cooler only 43 degrees with a 50% chance of rain in the a.m. The low will be 30. Thee End...
Drat, we are hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow cause that is when Auntie Jody is coming. 'Mom' & she were s'posed to meet in town & go to a couple of stores. Aun...tie Jody is bringing us more treats, too!!
'Mom's back has not been too bad today. She did not do a lot, & rested fur awhile. She has been hoping fur a bit of wind, so she can take Cameo out on the deck & give her a good brushing & let the wind take it away. The birdies like to use the hair fur their nests. We already ate & 'Mom' is eating now. She is multi-tasking!!
Here comes Raven, but it is way too early fur treats!! 'Mom' is going to check my notes now, so I wish all my furiends & friends sweet butterfly dreams!! ((( )))
Poor poor kitty. Had 2 strokes after flea medication!
Why? It's a simple question with many answers. Some are simple, some are complex and depending on what one is questioning, there may never be an answer. A lot o...f times the answer is something that only brings to light more questions.
Today marks the 2 year anniversary of my Pretty Princess BlueBelle's stroke. Like all strokes, it seemingly came from left field. I had actually thought that she was having trouble walking due to a fall from my bed. I got her in the carrier and called Richter's mom to drive us to the ER Vet. I had recently had hip surgery and wasn't supposed to drive. Despite having to be at work 7:30 the next morning, she stayed with me until they released BlueBelle at 4:30am. Even with her there, I had never felt so alone in my life. I was told that they had done everything possible and not to expect miracles. She could no longer walk, was barely concious and had lost control of her bodily functions. Dr Verbrick called me before her office opened, "Bring her now". I drove, even though my right leg was in bad shape from the hip surgery. We both stunk. My Princess was wet and soiled. There was no need for me to put her in her carrier. She could barely lift her head. You know that you have a great Vet when the entire staff crowds into the room and is crying with you. First things first....Dr Verbrick worked on her vitals and cleaning her up. Her blood pressure was so high. Dr Verbrick blamed herself for not checking it. After all, BlueBelle was a senior patient (15) with Chronic pancreatitis and Kidney Disease. She was getting subQ fluids 3x weekly and despite the prognosis from those, was doing well. There was no reason to think that a stroke was going to happen. I didn't and still don't blame Dr Verbrick for BlueBelle's stroke. It happened and I asked the question I didn't want to. She never sugar coated anything and didn't then either. Go home, she said. She's a very sick girl but she can pull through this. Take a shower, take a nap and I'll call you.
She stayed in the hospital for a week. It was so hard to leave her there. The minute I walked in, her head would perk up and you cod hear her purr.
But WHY? What caused her stroke? Several things. The number one being high blood pressure. It is called the silent killer. BlueBelle was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis about 3 months after being poisoned with Permathrin. A poison that is highly toxic to cats yet was the main ingredient in the Hartz Ultra Guard flea treatment that was used on her and Tooga. Yes, Hartz admitted that is what poisoned them. (In the "About" section) Doing a lot of reasearch, I learned that Chronic Pancreatitis can be caused by chemical poisoning. Later that year, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Dr Verbrick assured me that it was very early stage and would not be what would eventually take my Pretty Princess from me. The pancreatitis attacks were hard on her. Many of you may remember the frequent vet visits....it eventually lead to high blood sugar and after her stroke, diabetes. Everything could be traced to Permathrin poisoning. Do I ask another WHY?
WHY are these products still available and marketed as being "safe" for your pets. WHY do big box stores and many grocery stores sell them? That "Why" is easy.....they want your money. WHY do many Pet supply stores sell them? Is it the same? They just want your money? One would think they'd want what's best for your pets. So, again, I ask WHY???
This picture of HRH BlueBelle was taken in June after her second stroke. It was just after KitNipBox day and she lay and played with the Nip Toys before falling into a blissful sleep. She loved KitNipBox day , they were never DCB.
Today, while you are out and about, should you happen to see harmful OTC flea topicals, collars and shampoos from companies such as Hartz, Sargent's.....ask the store manager WHY???? Ask if you purchase the product and your pet dies or suffers permanent neurological injuries is the store going to cover vet bills and the lifelong expenses incurred from the dangerous product they knowingly sold?
