Fun stuff.
Farewell to the old Hardy Simmons Bank. Crews are demolishing it to make way for a new Dollar General. Contractors with RLH Construction, LLC of Salem-the company constructing the building, say it will be completed in three months .
And this is what a regular old Tuesday afternoon in Spring River Country looks like... Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. These canoers missed their mark at High Falls, but they managed. Where there's a will, there's away. 😎🚣‍♀️🏕

This just in from Mel Colema, CEO of NAEC

“North Arkansas Electric Cooperative was within .4% of an all time electric demand early this am. Right now we are 25% ahead of last night, same time. Assuming no hiccups, the system will have a significant record peak tomorrow am. Hate to speculate but it will be large. Probably the largest ever. One thing to note: this type of weather extreme is the most severe test an electric distribution system can face, and can cause unknown we...ak spots to surface. It’s like a nuclear stress test for your heart. We’ve checked all systems and we are as prepared as we can be. Should we experience any outages, our men are ready to immediately respond. As always, members should have a plan B during times of extreme weather. As for energy, and the ability to meet demand....the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas have adequate generation on line, and in reserve, to meet expected demand and energy needs. Stay warm!”
