Stepping Stones Pediatric Feeding and Speech clinic is owned and operated by my mom and her staff. I have not lived in Texas while she has been in business, but I enjoy seeing and hearing about all of... the fun events and exciting behind the scenes brainstorming done as she grows her clinic and finds ways to better suit the needs of her patients.

My middle son was also born with Dysphagia. I remember going through months of diffculty breastfeeding and the blood and tears associated there. I was never able to exclusively breastfeed him and it broke my heart. We visited home often and she saw how much he was throwing up and choking while I fed him around that same 3 month period.

His pediatrician kept telling me he had GERD. Then he had bronchiolitis. And from 5 months to 9 months we were on a constant course of a nebulizer every 2 hours for 2 different oral medications for his bronchiolitis and aspiration pneumonia and on antibiotics every 2-3 weeks for yet another ear infection.

My mom helped me by scheduling video conferencing into her busy days and watched me feed him, over and over. She gave me tips on what to change and how to feed him so we could get to the root of it. When nobody listened to my gut instinct as a mother about something being wrong with my baby, she listened.

She ended up telling me to demand a swallow study and I told the pediatrician and he said "it can't hurt." The results came back and he was diagnosed with dysphagia. It has been and uphill battle since then, but I know that no matter what she has going on, her dedication to her work and providing service to those that truly need it is admirable.

Being able to draw from her own experience as a mother with my brothers special needs to all of her dedicated years of schooling has proved invaluable. Even with the resources I have for speech and feeding at my disposal, I always go to her. Nobody even compares in my eyes for I have seen her work miracles!

We were beyond excited to have found a feeding specialist in town a few years ago. Our excitement only grew as we began to see our son evolve and make significant progress as he struggled with his sen...sory disorder. The clinic staff, from the owner to the front office staff, always made it a point to make us feel welcomed. Even better they became like family to us. We are so grateful to have them in our lives. Words will never be enough to say thank you to these wonderful professionals who helped us be where we are today. ❤️ See More
