We lost Danny McNeill today from his battle with cancer. But Danny with his no nonsense style of politics was a big man with a gentile heart who cared passionately about the common person and the working men and women of Pennsylvania and the country. He was a true hero of labor.
It has been my pleasure to work with him since 2013 and I'm so pleased to have had the chance to know him and to call him my friend. I will miss him dearly.
This important work—work we started together—is far from over. Which is why I am seeking re-election as your state representative in 2018.
Please join me for a re-election fundraiser on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the home of Regina Gordon & Carol Grey, 317 Gribbel Road, Wyncote, PA 19095.
Suggested donations: $500, $250, $100 or $50. RSVP to Deb McCarter by calling 215-884-7306 or emailing Steve@SteveMcCarter.com
Many marches have taken place in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. But the most important march is yet to come -- it's the march we will all take on our own, as we march to our own polling places to cast a ballot.
Please join me in voting on Tuesday, May 16th! Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Let’s send a message on Primary Day – by having one of the largest voter turnouts for a local election that anyone has ever seen!

This is just a brief note to thank everyone for the opportunity to go back to Harrisburg to represent the 154th Legislative District for a third term. Thank you for your overwhelming vote of confidence, it is truly humbling. (78% -22%)
I look forward to continuing the opportunity to help every person in Cheltenham, Jenkintown and Springfield with your State needs.
Climate Change/Global Warming impacts every person on the planet and has been identified by scientists, world leaders, intelligence professionals, military experts and concerned citizens as a priority issue for the future of the planet. However we have not heard either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump address the issue in the first two debates, nor has it been listed as a topic in the third debate. Please take a minute to sign the online petition and share it with all of your friends and family so that we can have a chance to get the topic added to the debate on October 19. Thanks.
Tomorrow is the Local Candidates Forum in Elkins Park. Please be sure to come out and learn more about my policy positions in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

I hope we all take a few minutes this Labor Day to reflect on the important impact organized labor has had on American society.
Over the past one hundred and thirty years labor unions have given rise to a middle class like no other in the world. The growth of the middle class from 1900 to the 1970’s was the economic engine that made the United States the envy of the world. And let’s not forget the role of unions in giving us the 40-hour workweek, healthcare, health and saf...ety laws, child labor laws, and minimum wages among many gains.
Since the seventies however, we have seen a steady decline in unionization of workers and at the same time a stagnation of middle class growth. In fact, we have seen millions of middle class workers slipping into poverty, with fewer opportunities for sustained economic growth. Real wages have slipped for all middle class Americans as more and more wealth has moved to a small percentage of families.
So today, with the traditional kickoff for the general election in November, please listen carefully to the views of those running for office and how they view the impact of unions that fight for worker rights, opportunities for organizing and what are real living wages.
I am proud of my labor roots and pay homage to those who have sacrificed so much to give us what benefits we enjoy today. It’s up to us to reenergize the labor movement, vote for labor candidates and create a renewal of the spirit that moved America forward so dynamically in the last century!
We recently visited the local coordinated campaign office in Elkins Park. The energy and enthusiasm in the office is off the charts! If you are looking to get involved – please stop by the office at: 170 Yorktown Plaza, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
With 72 days left until Election Day, our campaign is preparing for political lawn sign season -- and we will soon have hundreds of Steve McCarter yard signs that will need a good home through November 8th.
If you would like a Steve McCarter yard sign to display on your lawn this fall, please email Steve@stevemccarter.com or call (215) 884-7306 and we will be happy to put your home on a list of those who would proudly display a lawn sign to re-elect State Rep. Steve McCarter....
You can also pick up a McCarter lawn sign from the local coordinated campaign office in Cheltenham Township which is located at: 170 Yorktown Plaza, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to volunteer. Thanks!
