Hey everyone. Thanks to those who came to Sunday Circus last weekend and thanks so much to Jess, Stef & Daniel for their lovely performances. We've got another ...Sunday Circus on 22nd May but first I have a CALL TO ACTION!
All Hallows Hall is under threat of closure so they need your help in persuading Bristol City Council to register the space as a Community Asset. I know people are asked to do this alot but PLEASE if you've enjoyed Sunday Circus (or any other event) at All Hallows sign the petition to Bristol Council:
Also check out the website to see how else you can get involved to help.
For those of you who enjoyed Gramski free-styling at the Sunday Circus Christmas special, you'll enjoy this too..........with our very own Sunday Circus drummer boy Harry as part of the rhythm section.
We've gone a little quiet, and here's the reason why - we're off to climb Mt Kenya! We'll tell you all about it when we get back, but check out the page to find out who we're raising funds for....you can even sponsor us if you like https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sponsored-Mt-Kenya-Climb/988339387861304

Thanks to all the wonderful performers at our Christmas Special - a brilliant afternoon of music, singing, free styling, learning about sandwich competitions, hilarious poems, excellent compering and a Christmas quiz & challenge complete with champers for the winner. Good times! Happy Christmas one and all, enjoy and see you in 2015!
We're back! Finally!
After a long break enjoying the summer (it was bloody amazing wasn't it?) and looking around for a new home we're back to bring you more talks, music and fun. It's getting cold outside now though so come and snuggle up at the Blue Man at the new time of 3 o'clock (inspired by our laid back friends at Sunday Circus London).
We're delighted to relaunch with:...
Steve Elston / Dan Searle / Rough Sea SCREEN / Alice Phelps
Steve Elston: Man and Dog - our dear old friend and Sunday Circus veteran has a wonderful new album out and sings as sweetly as ever. Steve is an exceptionally creative guitarist and an entertaining, insightful storyteller. Combining intricate, lightning speed guitar passages with lyrics as serious as they are playful, Steve Elston delivers an intelligent mix of humour, anger and charm. He also likes dogs, the rain, willies, old maps and walking about.
Dan Searle is probably a performance poet. Expect ornate, elaborate and grotesque poems mostly concerning things he's eaten for lunch, delivered in a northern accent once described as 'chewy'. Topics include the disgrace of salad, trousers, eyebrows, and the meta-physicality of asparagus wee.
Rough Sea SCREEN presents:
THE UNDERCLIFF (Abigail Toll, 2012)
Part documentary, part poetic evocation of the Undercliff community and its landscape.
REDUNDANT (Sina Krause & Stuart Warwick, 2013)
The last weeks of a DVD rental shop in Kemptown, Brighton. A nostalgic way of saying goodbye to an era.
Alice Phelps +/- band: "Alice Phelps truly is a standout performer and one of the finest musicians in the capital. She integrates the harp into contemporary soulful compositions with her accomplished backing band, who add the icing to the cake. Prepare to go on a fantastic journey through folk blended with non traditional blues infused melodies. A trip well worth taking." - Charlie Wrights.
Sunday Circus is free, but we are grateful for donations to keep help things ticking along.
We're moving to pastures new to try somewhere different - delighted to be having the next Sunday Circus at Blue Man in Brighton. Great venue space and lush food and beer! The beer is so lush, we're moving it to the afternoon, proper lazy Sunday's.
