Always a wonderful experience
dining at Tara's. It's the love that goes into the food... Tara and her place are authentic - if your looking for an "Americani zed" dining experience this isn't it. If yo...u're looking for authentic Trini food and experience don't miss your chance to stop in. Tara your black cake makes my heart warm... as does the visit while we eat. Thank you as always! See you again soon!
First time there,trav
eled from a far,I live in the Pasco county...H oliday area..The food was great, horr ible customer service,th e older lady in the front was rude,No hospitalit y at all..I ask for a lil... of the hot sauce to take home, she said No!! And was wiping her nose with her sweater..I drove an hour for that..I will never come back.
The food is good but Tara just needs to practice sanitary methods of preparing and serving food. Come on! A box of a thousand disposable
gloves is less than $10.00 and maybe people wouldn’t get sick l...ike the previous reviewer. When I visited, it was bare hands after touching and handling the cash and scratching her head.
I heard rumor of an authentic Trini roti shop in Tampa and just had to try it out. So we trekked 40 minutes from my hotel after work and found this glorious gem! The Doubles and Roti were spectacula...r, spot on, transporte
d me mentally right back to my favorite little fishing village beach in Tobago. We showed up not long before closing and I know Tara wanted to be leaving soon but she was so kind to see the excitement on our faces that she not only cooked us that delicious meal to eat dine in, but sat down and had a great chat with us as well. I'd love to say there were no leftovers but I ordered WAY too much food because it was so good I couldn't help myself so she boxed it up for me to take home. Thank you Tara for the best dinner experience , I felt like a kid at Christmas tonight. Blondie and the two Baldies will be back soon!
This was my first time at this place yesterday I ordered doubles and a dhalpuri and chicken curry I eat the doubles first as soon as I got into my car by the time I got home I started to feel nausea a...nd diarrhea I had to call out from work today I am having severe stomach pain so literally all night I vomitted and I have diarrhea I will never go back there I spent $15.00 to get sick that's not acceptable

The 5 stars are only for the roti and the bake and buljol, that's all I've ever eaten there and I must say they've been delicious.
This restaurant is only for pick up and leave because this is the wor...st customer service you'll ever experience if you catch Tara on a bad day. When I first started going to this restaurant I got the crap treatment but the food is so good that I just accept her for her; plus being from the Caribbean I am not new to terrible customer service and bomb ass food. Unfortunat ely, I didn't think the islanders would bring the same attitude to the US. I place my order, keep my head down, pay my money and leave. I think the more Tara sees your face she might treat you a bit nicer but her snide comments won't completely go away the restaurant is reminiscen t of one back home in terms of how it looks but can be cleaned up a bit. In the end, this is the only place I've ever had a roti since moving to America and I'm grateful for having it in Tampa, I just wish the customer service reflected the food.
e customer service! Don't waste your time! I called in advance to make my order . Order was accepted . I drove 45 mins with my infant to get the food. Reached 10 mins to closing , the door w...as closed , she was counting money inside and wouldn't open the door . She was yelling at me through the door saying she was closed . When I stood there long enough , she came to be door and informed me that she just served my food to another gentleman. I have never been treated so nasty by my own before . Caribbean people alike , we should want to extend decent service so that our establishm ents can expand . Clearly, Tara has been in business so long , she could careless about making an additional customer . Nasty , terrible old woman . Can't tell u about her food but her service , I wouldn't waste a dollar here . Wasted my gas and time this Saturday night ! Don't waste your time.
Tara's food is excellent.
Every time we go, it's like going to Grandma's house. We come from Texas for work and we always make it a point to stop by and get some Curry Chicken & Doubles. The last tim...e Tara even packed us some patties to take back with us. It's homey, it's not fancy but sure reminds me of Grandma's place back home.
Food was great, service was great with comedy thanks Tara
This was my weekend spot for a year while I lived down in Tampa. I never missed my mom's cooking. I still miss going by every Friday or Saturday to stock up on my food for the weekend, I loved to just... go and relax there and have a beer or solo.. Everything
is good, the shrimp, chicken, goat, duck, dhalpuri and buss up shot.
The absolute best for indo-carib
bean cuisine. Everytime I go, I am immediatel y transporte d back home to Trinidad. The atmosphere , the food, Miss Tara herself, makes it all worth while. I have had ppl... try other spots in and around Tampa, but they always come back to Tara's, because once you've had the best, it makes no sense settling for less.
Just finished my amazing Goat Roti at Tara's! Thank you Tara!
Horrible horrible customer service. My wife called to order roti and my daughter has allergies.
We dont know much about caribbean food so we had questions about the ingredient s and all the owner kept ...doing was screaming at us on the phone saying i dont know what i out in my food. This place needs to learn customer service.
I am from Trinidad and Miss Tara's roti is killer! She treats you like family. Every time we're in Tampa we go to Tara's Roti Shop. Often more than once. Great home cooking 💯👍🏽👍🏽
I remember, at my partner’s sister’s wedding seeing a whole set of Trini white gals bruk out to dancehall with bamcee acrobatics my black ass cannot manage without triggering Charlie horses in my butt cheeks. If I am going to be away from home for any extended period, my tawah travels with me. It has been in my suitcase, back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean, because roti is life and this black...
