Been a member to this Y for 2 years. Ms Beth and the staff members in child watch have been amazing with my girls. I love the flexible hours available child watch has to offer. The locker room is pret...ty decent with numerous shower stalls. I like the division of the weight rooms. During the summer the splash pad is great! The staff upfront is super friendly. I have been to a few YMCA’s in Hampton Roads and this one has been my favorite. See More

I love the facility and the programs for the whole family. My kids love stay and play! However, the number of people camped out on the equipment on their phones, drinking coffee, shooting the breeze h...as gotten out of hand. No one is willing to let you work in when they are just lounging on the equipment. It's not fair to the people who are actually here to work out. See More

First time going there this weekend. Loved it. Everyone was so welcoming. Took Jason’s 30min cycling class yesterday. This was my first time ever cycling and I really enjoyed the class.

I have to say that I love coming here. The people in the morning at the stay and play are great! They love making my son feel welcome and he does enjoy going there.
I also love Meghan cycling and kett...lebell class. I been taking her cycling classes for a couple weeks now and I've already lost 5lbs. She is so wonderful and very energetic. It defiantly keeps you motivated even when you feel like giving up. I'm glad I found a place where I can push myself and lose this baby weight from having my son :) See More

I love this gym. I work out here any chance I am able to. The prices are amazing through their open-door program and gives me a place to get myself back into a healthy life-style on the a very tight b...udget. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone! See More

I really enjoy the new aqua Zumba class. There is less impact on my joints and I can tone my muscles while having fun.

Second time here and won't be back again. Got pulled out of my workout to change my baby's diaper. She said they couldn't leave the other babies to change a diaper but yet she could leave to get me in... the wellness center?!?!? Makes no sense at all. So of course when I changed her she didn't want to go back in. Nobody plays with the babies and they were mad bc another baby wS crying making all the other babies upset. Nobody was nurturing at all,
Went to get my big kids and he was just glued to a video game. I wish they had more activities and exercises for the kids rather than just playing video games for 3 hours. Needless to say I won't be coming back here and wil just stay at greenbrier or great bridge location

After a lifeguard ignored attempts by several members to request his help for a severely cramping member in the pool, but responded instantly to the clock striking 9pm to kick us out of the pool, I've... sent in my request to cancel our membership.

This came after the Indian River location was all but unavailable to male members, as they closed down the entire men's locker room for renovations while simultaneously building the two unisex full service changing rooms. The lack of forethought that kept them from coming up with a way to avoid essentially limiting services to a single gender for two months is, unfortunately, par for the course with your overall organization.

You charge too much for a married couple for service to be so overwhelmingly poor and spotty, let alone to have a lifeguard that only guards the timely end of their shift.

I utilize the pool and participate in the aquatic volleyball on Monday and Wednesday mornings ( 9-10 ). This is a great group of young folks who range in ages 40+ and up. Our lifeguards are usually ...Ben and Randy, they are "Great Young Men" and they are there if we need them. We can utilize the thearpy pool, hot tub and sauna if we want to, which many of us do.

Started spin cycling last week, the instructors are great albeit intense but I'll catch up. Also signed up for Activtrax, Beckie took me through it one step at a time. Probably will need a little en...couragement from the staff to keep up the pace but all in all one of the better YMCA's I have been involved with. Thank you, great job guys. See More

Heather is killing it in cycling. My husband and I left the room walking like zombies, our legs were so worn out. We were sweating from head to toe and loved every minute of it. The music she played w...as on point.
Shante is amazing with the Kettlebells and her bootcamp is no joke.
Best part of it all is the Stay and Play for the kids. My kids whine when we come to pick them up because they don't want to go home. We are always greeted by name with the biggest smiles from the children's area workers, are kids are 3 months to 4 yrs old. My kids are treated as if we are family. I am also very happy that the staff does not change my kid's diapers. I do not know the staff all that well, I only see them a few minutes every day. So no, I do not want them touching or seeing my children's private parts, I want them playing and interacting in a fun way with my children. Changing diapers is for me and their father or someone that I know extremely well and have trusted for years. I am happy to be pulled out of class to do this myself. I can't believe I ever wasted my time or money going to OneLife, the YMCA is 100% better in all areas!!

My wife and I signed up for the couples yoga class scheduled for Valentines weekend. I called two days before the class to confirm the time of 2:30-3:30 because it was only open to 12 couples. We show... up and we were 15 minutes early and the class had already started. Major disappointment but they called to apologize and we're able to make up for their mistake. See More

With a 3 month old getting out of the house isn't always easy so I look forward to my time at the YMCA. The staff in the childcare are great. However the front desk staff is less then friendly, never ...greeted, and when I say thank you after they check me in they will completely ignore and just downright have unwelcome body language. These are the first faces you see when entering the facility, would be nice to feel welcome or be greeted with a smile. See More

The YMCA will always be in my planned each day. My family love the Y . It is part of our every day living. My husband is at the Y each morning from Monday thru Friday by 8 am . He does all Aqua wate...r exercise. My self Zumba at least 5 times a week, kick boxing, KettleworK . My grand daugther and grand son both did 3 weeks of camp. They had fun.
