And THIS picture says it all. BBQ Brethren members converged on the Northport VA hospital this past Saturday and cooked over 1000 lbs of meat for a BBQ for our veterans. Vets going as far back as WWII came out to enjoy a day with there families and some great BBQ and Music. Thanks to all the Brethren members that showed up to make the day a great success.
Thanks to everyone who came down to the Northport VA hospital today for the BBQ for the Veterans. It was a great day. We had loads of fun with all the brethren... and families and we helped give our veterans a great day out for them and their families. We can never do this without the help of the BBQ Brethren members and their families who volunteer their time and efforts for the weekend. You're all like family to me too, so thanks for all the help!!! This picture said alot for me today.. I saw this gentlemen sitting alone enjoying his lunch and at that point, I knew why I was there.. (it was great that someone snapped this photo, his plate was full when I saw him
Something else folks, as the fog clears from the weekend. Something I neglected to pointout. If you look at the photos, we had LOADS of volunteers. Everone on the cooker side of the caution tape. People came out of the woodwork to help. A gentlemen from CT came down with a trunk full of porkloins and chickens. Others brought supplies and #10 cans of goods. I rented a 16 foot uhaul to get all the supplies there and expected to go home mostly empty. Instead, its more full now than when i left with all the donations. They will be used this week in lindenhurst. But I have to send a huge thanks to all those volunteers. We started to pass around a volunteer sheet, and have no idea where it went or if it ever got completed. So, to all of you who just came down and worked your tails off, thanks to all of you!
The server move is complete. Due to the time on the old server being off, we decided to wait for the clocks to synchronize between the old and new servers before we reopen the forums. This will prevent problems that all those posts from the future would have presented.
