Great food! Casual atmosphere with a nice view of the beach. We ordered the gator tail as an appetizer that was really good. I had the fish sandwich “Trigger fish” and my wife had the Ruby Red shrimp...! Everything tasted great and the staff was very attentive!!! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. All great. Food and service were great. Had the Cuban with Red Beans and Rice as a side. Two people came in after me and asked what I was eating because it looked so good. They ordered the same thing.... During my visit, it was not overly busy. Staff service were spot on. I will go back. See More

Despite the 3 you have to get the red beans and rice. It's hiding as a side dish and should be a main course. Simply perfect flavor, spice and texture. The service was good not great but the locatio...n makes up for it. Wish they served liquor, would be the best spot for a tropical type beverage like a rum punch. Got the avocado tacos and added grilled shrimp. The slaw and salsa verde were great but the avocado was huge pieces. Needed to be salted and sliced thinner before panco frying. Otherwise, pretty great.
Did I mention the red beans and rice!

Treated myself to lunch for my birthday. Had the avocado tacos, red beans and rice, and a Tartastic Lemon Ginger Sour beer to wash it down. The avocado tacos were absolutely delicious! 2 quarters of ...an avocado in each taco breaded and fried with a really tasty coleslaw infused with mandarin oranges.Salsa verde and cojita cheese crumbled on the top.Delicious!
The red beans and rice are not vegetarian but that little bit of sausage really makes them special would eat them again for sure.
The citrusy slightly sour tartastic lemon ginger beer was the perfect compliment and the ocean breeze and scenery didn't hurt either. If I had to complain about anything it's that the outside seating are all picnic tables and the benches get kind of hard on the back side after a while.

I wish I could share the picture on here but it won't let me. I live in Louisiana and my mother sent me pics of what was supposed to be gator tail but I assure you it wasn't gator tail! She informed t...hat she wasn't satisfied nor did she eat her meal but they still made her pay for it?? See More

Food was served with a side of hair. By the time the remake came out my husband was done and it was time to go. Manager never came to the table. Food was mediocre. Def would not recommend.

Atmosphere was fantastic. Right on the beach, next to beautiful sand dunes. Cool lights strung along to light the tables outside. Friendly service. Refreshing drink specials. Unfortunately the ahi tun...a tacos and the dill pickle potato salad were tasteless. Very little seasoning. They have a sign that says they don't do fast food, but good food. And they're right. Food took a while. Back on the up side, the burgers were amazing and huge and the fries were delicious! I would definitely go back and stick to a burger. See More

The smoked wings were on point. However, if you like heat try the regular wings. I don't like heat and they were perfection. Also the raspberry blu cheese was the perfect compliment.

It was like "Cheers" everyone was so friendly!
People talking, laughing... the bartender (we chose to sit at the bar) was entertaining & the setting was perfect just a quick walk to the beautiful whit...e sands for a view of the blue ocean 💙Because it is open air make sure to take some bug deflector - a very enjoyable time & the food was good. We were traveling with our 2 dogs and we were so very welcomed. Thank you so much for your kind gesture of a bowl of ice water for them. They felt so at home that when someone came with their dog it w...as like they came into THEIR home... Lol ..
Food was so very yummy. We love St. Augustine and try to get there often. Definitely will be our #1 go to !!

We visited on 6/25. The steamed shrimp was delicious and their location was very nice.
However, our waitress was really rude. I'm from NC which is covered in southern hospitality so maybe it was just... a culture shock but she honestly acted like we were a bother and seemed like she had better things to do. My brother-in-law asked for the banana peppers to be left off his sandwich and she told us that it would just be easier for him to pick them off than for her to go ask the kitchen to leave them off. She made us repeat ourselves many times because she never really seemed to be listening and she always seemed annoyed that she didn't "understand" what we said. I feel like if we had had a different server than our experience would have been better.
The food was mostly mediocre. This was our first restaurant experience to start our family vacation and unfortunately it wasn't great.
But if you are looking for an ocean front restaurant to just grab a beer than this is a good spot 😊

To start, I am a neighbor, not a paid restaurant reviewer.
Why I like Beach Comber: Beach Shack atmosphere, casual, relaxed, upbeat, right on the beach. Very tasty food offerings. -Check out the stea...med shrimp and smoked chicken wings, together. Good value at reasonable prices.
Staff is very helpful, friendly without tresspassing or intruding. Ideal place to drop-in casually, cold beverages and good quality beach food!

This is where we started our Sunday Funday. They always have fresh beers on tap and their Gator tail is to die for.
