  • I generally try to abstain from posting opinions on FB, but I feel I... need to address something for just a second, and it's probably not going to make me very popular. On behalf of all musicians trying to provide you with new music that will keep our collective elation alive, I'd like to remind everyone that music is certainly a gift, for those of us who are lucky enough to have it in our daily lives. But it's also a huge investment on the artist's part. From the time and devotion it takes in the studio, to the money it takes to physically create, to the time and money and devotion it takes for us to get it to you, it really requires a lot of energy and funding on our side of the equation. If you truly love something that someone else creates, please keep that part of it in mind, and consider your contribution as a way to keep us afloat and perpetually creating. The vast majority of music listeners today rely on services like Pandora and Spotify for their music addictions, and I just want to clear the air and let you know that the musicians do not really monetarily benefit from these services. And I'm not quite certain why that's not public knowledge. And that's okay. If that's your level of commitment to the art, we can all accept that. It doesn't by any means make you a bad person. Nor does it make Pandora or Spotify evil corporations. They're just running a business. But if you genuinely love an artist or a band, you should consider whether it's such a sacrifice to pay a mere dollar per song. A song that potentially took months of emotion to craft, hours or even days in the studio, and many dollars and headaches trying to get to you through the labyrinth of the music business and internet. I wish I could say that the distribution process was easy, but it's far from it. It generally requires a lot of money and endless time, regardless of the quality of the product. So like I said, no judgment, either way you decide to go on this issue. I just wanted to put the information out there. Do with it what you will. Many thanks to the people who have supported The Beriberi and Giving The Table A Name over the years. My gratitude is bottomless. I hope to keep making new and always-evolving music for you until the end of my days. ~Jeff Allyn Szwast Meer weergeven

If you were recently trying to access The Beriberi's Music Store and/or BandPage and were met with utter futility, you may be happy to know that the bugs have been worked out and updated. Or you may want to insert a small Chinatown bus into my anus to quell your frustration.

Either works, really. Enjoy!
