Our volunteers are integral in the success of The Bridge. ...
In the words of The Bridge Manager, Sara Schipper Russel, "The Bridge, an outreach of Western Theological Seminary, is a Fair Trade store located in downtown Holland. We are staffed by 30 volunteers and 4 paid staff. Our volunteers come from all walks of life. Many are retired teachers who use their years of teaching experience to relate to student groups from local schools to talk about Fair Trade. Our volunteers have made connections with other volunteer opportunities in the area- Community Action House, Kids Hope, Women in Transition, Kids Food Basket, Community Kitchen, Boys and Girls Club, Hospice of Holland, Evergreen commons, and Tulip Time. While these may not be directly related to the work they do at The Bridge, they are a voice for us and have brought more volunteers to The Bridge. Volunteers Rock!!"
