“To celebrate the release of Evil Spirits we’re heading on tour! Catch us LIVE all over the UK, kicking off in Brighton! Tickets on sale here now http://po.st/DAMNEDtour”
Thank you VERY much Les Docks. Lausanne, you were fantastic. We had a great time at the venue, with a great support act tonight, Capital Youth from Geneva, who stepped in at the last minute. Much fun was had on a stage which was literally bigger than the rest of the venue. Highlights were the crowd singalong in Ignite and the Acapella crowd chant/football terrace song demanding Smash It Up for the 2nd encore. Well sung folks!!! Oh, and Man Utd lost. AND, we managed to completely avoid some massive social gathering paid for by the British taxpayers.......This perfect day............On through the night to Milan in our freshly fixed regular bus. Le fragole provenienti da questa penisola godono di ottima fama.
Dinner awaits in this lovely venue. If the lunch was anything to go by we should all be rolling ourselves on stage tonight at Les Docks in Lausanne. Really vibey atmosphere in both the concert hall and backstage. Once again , really friendly staff and crew. Thanks to all for looking after us.
So there we go. Gig number 1 with Jon Priestley done and dusted with this line up. Great job he did too when he remembered to actually turn his bass on!!! Took it all in his stride like a trooper though and blasted through a heavily altered set by Mr Sensible at the last minute as usual!!! Pulling songs out of our asses has been a regular occurrence in Damned world and long may it continue. It makes the shows chaotic, unpredictable and highly enjoyable. We would like to exten...d our thanks to this wonderful venue and staff that kept our bellies full and our livers lubricated with an excellent array of Germanys finest brews. Day off in Lausanne Switzerland tomorrow. Wonder what mischief we can get up to? If you see a lonely silver bus lurking near the Les Docks venue. Come knock Monty out of his bunk and take him for a beer. Of course, your'e paying!!! Carry on Europe......
Well, we kick off the latest Damned adventure tonight in Frankfurt at the lovely Batschkapp venue and we would all like to welcome on board the very talented Mr Jon Priestley. We just completed 2 days of sweaty rehearsals in London and Jon made the bass transition entirely painless and as smooth as it could possibly be. The setlist for tonights show is chock full of Damned classics, which Jon is making pretty light work of. I'm sure there will be plenty of videos uploaded from these European shows so you will all get to hear his many talents, one of which is being a Liverpool fan. Needless to say, there will be iPads all over the stage when we play in Oberhausen the night of the champions league final as we hit the stage when the 2nd half kicks off. YNWA!!! Come on you Reds!!
Today we are extremely proud to announce that your good friends The Damned are celebrating their first ever top ten album in their forty-one year long career! Their new album ‘Evil Spirits’, released last Friday the 13th via Search & Destroy and Spinefarm records, has slammed into the Official Charts at Number 7. Huge thanks to everyone that has shown their support and to all of the fans that have made this happen and helped this hugely-anticipated and critically-acclaimed a...lbum to the top!
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet,” said frontman Dave Vanian. “But it feels great to finally get there as it’s been a long time coming. We’ve had lots of top ten singles but never an album. Even when ‘Eloise’ was a big hit we were pipped to the number one spot by a novelty song by (British comedy actor and singer) Su Pollard! This time we’ve had Kylie and the Manics to compete with. A huge thanks to the fans, of course, without whom this record would never have been made. It feels amazing to finally get it out there.”
Stay tuned for much more news from The Damned over the coming year.
Cheers to everyone who’s bought Evil Spirits this week. It’s been a pleasure to see your reactions online and in person at these signings and we’re thoroughly looking forward to playing these new songs live for you
