From David Thomas:
Since Christmas, I have had a not so well kept secret. I discovered I had cancer--the drs have determined that I have it in my right kidney and my esophagus. I have not said much about it until now because I wanted all the facts before I discussed it openly. I start radiation and chemo next week for 5-6 weeks, followed by the removal of my kidney and then after a few weeks of recovery, I will have esophagus surgery. Please keep Jack and I in your prayers du...ring this time. I have no worries or fears, God is large and in charge and He has already given me the victory but the road from here to there may be a bit difficult. I love you all and appreciate the love and encouragement I have already received from many of you. My faith is in the Lord and His Word and I trust His promise: "My grace [abundant grace] is sufficient for you!" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Each step moves us closer to stopping the spread of HIV and ending the epidemic!
"After a mandate from the state’s surgeon general, Florida will offer free Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) to all residents by the end of 2018. The drug, sold u...nder the brand name Truvada, is almost 100% effective at preventing HIV infection if taken properly."
For some information about PrEP and accessibility here in Indiana, see the IU Health page here: http://healthcenter.indiana.edu/…/pre_exposure_prophylaxis_…
Have you seen our pictures from 2017 TEN Conference??? We had a glorious time - Praise God! Check 'em out - and we look forward to seeing you THIS year in Chicago!
Many people do not know that Bayard Rustin, an openly gay Christian was the chief strategist/advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. When the two began working together in 1955 Rustin had already been a veteran of civil rights activities for more than a decade and a half and taught King much about organizing. Rustin was the key organizer to making the 1963 March on Washington a successful demonstration.
A moment to reflect. We can all learn something from a minister who gave all he had to raise up a people who were oppressed. Who else in the Christian faith demonstrated this kind of love? Feel free to reply.
Looking for a way to help get the word out about the 2018 TEN Conference??? We'd love your assistance in letting people know.
