The Nicholas Colby Fund Delivered Nearly 300 “Smiles” in 2017
The Nicholas Colby Fund creates personalized events and experiences for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, focused completely on uplifting their spirits. In 2017, the result was nearly 300 “smiles” through luxury suite experiences, backpacks, and more for patients primarily from the three largest Northern California children’s hospitals:
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital - Oakland...
Stanford – Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital - San Francisco
There were almost two dozen luxury suite experiences at Oracle Arena – a major entertainment venue in the San Francisco Bay Area – to enjoy NBA professional basketball via World Champion Golden State Warriors, Disney on Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, several concerts, and more.
We thank everyone supporting our work aligned with this quote from Walt Disney, "You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."
Today: Nicholas' 18th Birthday (11 and 1/2 years in Heaven). He is never gone, never far, forever in our hearts and souls.
A Golden State Warriors tribute will be delivered tonight at the Warriors vs. Boston Celtics game. And children’s hospitals will be in our suite remembering Nicholas.
Nicholas touched all who knew him with his dynamic smile and personality. His amazing spirit, energy, enthusiasm, joy, and endless passion for caring about others continue to amaze us all -... providing an inspiration for love and life. Everyone blessed to know him, loved him, and loves him today.

Mila, we simply love helping to create and provide lasting memories - we were blessed meeting you. Lamont Gilbert
I Lamont Gilbert and the Nicholas Colby Fund believe love is the reason for the “golden” touch to be felt all-season long. From the basketball season to and beyond the holiday season. From Nicholas while here on Earth and the Warriors long ago (and the then mascot Thunder). To Nicholas in heaven guiding our hearts and hands and what you do that is a gift to others in an array of ways.
So let us keep sharing our golden gifts this way: Tonight patients from Bay Area children’s ...hospitals* will be in the Nicholas Colby Fund luxury suite to enjoy the Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets.

The Nicholas Colby Fund (Lamont Gilbert and Sheila Gilbert) has connected with the “Golden” State Warriors and they will contribute to the patient’s bucket list via an on-court experience. Their “golden” touch continues to amaze on and off the court whether or not people are looking.
