What an unexpected find for the afternoon! The outside of this pub is deceiving. We walked into a great place in Old Lyme. Great Happy Hour from 4-6. Trivia on Monday nights. Other specials throughou...t the week. Never expected to find such a fun place in town. We will be back! See More

First time there. Love the decor and the "uniqueness" of the restaurant (menus, fry baskets, water carafe, etc). Tried to order off their list of 12 draft beers, but they only had 4 available. $12 for... a martini. Ordered the calamari: the flavor was good but the breading was very mushy (everyone at table shared the same review). Also had the gorgonzola fries which were good but definitely needed more gorgonzola. French onion soup was excellent, my boyfriend said his fish and chips were good, and my fish tacos good as well. A tad pricey for the quantity of food you get (ie tacos had one small piece of cod in each, you got 2 with a side of fries $17). Another guest at the table ordered the shrimp board, very good flavor but again 7 shrimp with a side of plain rice is not worth $19. Good offerings of sauces. Service was good, a little more knowledge of the menu and items offered would have been nice but I'm sure it will come with time. I'd recommend making reservations because it is small and unfortunately a lot of people left instead of waiting. Interesting items on the menu, will try again. See More

Consistently delicious food and great service! Their soups are excellent. I have had the pleasure of trying 3 different "soups of the day" and each was better than expected. Last night, we took my 10...yr old with us. She is usually picky and hard to please. She ate ALL my soup, a mushroom/asparagus bisque; half of her Pub Steak, giant onion rings & green beans... and was rewarded with a dessert, vanilla sundae (not on the menu). My man had the pork chop special, which he (& my daughter) said was delicious and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the short rib sliders and the soup (ordered a 2ND bowl so I could actually eat some! lol).
The prices are steep, but the quality is there. I can't fault them for it. Keep it up, Public House! Great to have you in the neighborhood!

First time visit for lunch today. I was excited to see outside patio seating available. I went inside and looked around. Great looking bar and dining area. I was greeted with a smile by the waitres...s on duty. I sat outside and even though it was hot out, I ordered the soup of day. It was amazing!!! Lemon orzo with chicken was outstanding! Next I ordered the fish n chips. House made! Crispy and delicious. The fries don't need salt but I put some on anyways. The fish was not caked with breading which made it really enjoyable to eat. It was made with cod which you could tell was fresh and not frozen. The tartar sauce made in house was so good I dipped my fries into it! Onto dessert, house made chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream made here! Sounds and looks and tasted amazing! Had some organic tea too. Service was top notch, Nicole was very attentive and suggested items with great detail.
I will definitely return here and tell everyone about this place.

1st let me say their staff rocked! We had apps in the bar on Saturday night! Wings were good but you don't get many. 3stars in being generous. We ordered the pretzel w/ beer cheese sauce and honey mus...tard sauce. The picture they post on FB isn't even close. Ice cold pretzel sticks w two tiny side sauces. See More

The service, drinks and food are great, soup is to die for. The only problem is that you're closed on Sundays. We came in frequently on Sundays back when you were open then but haven't been there to...o often since. See More

The food was great. Our server must have had too many tables, waited too long for our 2nd round of drinks. It's a pet peeve of mine when my dinner gets cold waiting to order a beer.
And......if you c...laim to be an Irish Public House you had better have Irish Mist behind the bar.
There are 6 or 7 different varieties available, at the very least you should carry 3. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves and will probably be back.

Like the saying goes, "you only get one chance to make a first impression" and their staff knocked it out of the park. Our very first visit and they were so very accommodating to our needs. Our food very good and the cocktails were some of the best I've had in a long time. Can't wait to get back there! See More

It was cold outside but even colder inside temperature wise. Grilled shrimp Caesar salad , shrimp was somewhat tasty but very salty and Caesar salad was just bland. No flavor at all. Cost me $ 36 Ti...p included for a mediocre salad and a glass of wine, won't be back See More

Extremely disappointing. Very cold inside. Air conditioning up way too high. Ordered scallop special for $24 and got 8 scallops, a few halved cherry tomatoes. Omg. Then within 45 was sick and had... to run for the bathroom. Wow! We will not be back. See More
