The Ubuntu Manual Project is seeking volunteer authors and editors to work on Getting Started with Ubuntu 14.04, a comprehensive beginner's guide for the Ubuntu operating system that is free to download, read, modify and share.
How you can help
Become an author. We're currently in need of authors to help update Getting Started with Ubuntu to reflect the new features and updates found in Ubuntu 14.04. If you're interesting in becoming an author, you can find more information a...t <http://ubuntu-manual.org/getinvolved/authors>.
Become an editor. After the authors have finished writing the material, the editors ensure proper spelling and grammar, accuracy, and formatting. Grammar freaks welcome! If you're interested in becoming an editor, you can find more information at <http://ubuntu-manual.org/getinvolved/editors>.
Become an informant. There are a lot of changes in Ubuntu 14.04—both big and small. If you've found a new feature or something that's changed, let us know! You can send email to our mailing list at <ubuntu-manual@lists.launchpad.net> or email us directly at <feedback@ubuntu-manual.org>.
Become a proofreader. In a few weeks, after the authors and editors have finished their work, we'll post a public draft of the manual online for proofreading. This is your chance to read through your favorite parts of the manual and alert us of any mistakes we missed. We'll post here again when the manual is available for public proofreading.
Become a translator. After we've finalized the English edition of the manual, we'll make it available for translation. So far the manual has been translated to Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Lithuanian, Greek, and Slovenian.
