In tribute to Scott Carlson....
Meet The Fifth Beatle* returns in 2018 to Abbey Road On The River
Meet The Beetles and Abbey Road on the River are happy to anno...unce the return of the popular Meet The Fifth Beatle show after a one year hiatus from the event. This year's show has extra meaning as it will be performed in tribute to Meet The Beetles member and Abbey Road On The River regular, Scott Carlson, who lost his lifelong battle with diabetes just over a week ago.
Both the band and event agreed Meet The Fifth Beatle will be the ultimate way to honor Scott as the creation of the event itself was Scott's fault. Back in 2012, Scott's daughter was set to graduate high school over Memorial Day weekend. As a proud father, Scott was not going to miss this moment, but he was also determined not to miss Abbey Road on the River. He would have to step away from one show to travel home and cheer on his daughter. Together Meet The Beetles and Abbey Road on the River founded the Meet The Fifth Beatle show to fill Scott's place on the stage for that performance determining it would take 15 festival guests to do the job of one Scott.
In the years that followed, Scott was able to be a part of Meet The Fifth Beatle. He took great joy in helping other musicians sound amazing and was always happy to hand over his mic to allow them to shine. It was one of his favorite shows. Like at that very first Fifth Beetle event, Scott won't be on the stage, but he will always be in the hearts of his bandmates, the fifth Beatles of the past, and all those who knew him.
Meet The Fifth Beatle 2018 will be a celebration of Scott Carlson's life.
If you have a photo of yourself with Scott (especially fifth Beatle photos) please post it in reply to this note as we remember all those good times.
*Meet The Fifth Beetle is an opportunity for Abbey Road on the River guests to join a real live Beatle Tribute band for one song. Interested guests must submit an audition video, audio, or very persuasive email letter to Nicole at firstname.lastname@example.org. Those selected will get to choose a song from the extensive Meet The Beetles list and will then be mentored on their tune by a band member. On Saturday morning at Abbey Road on the River, each Fifth Beetle will join Meet The Beetles on stage, performing their song live at Abbey Road On The River.
Again....auditions should be sent to email@example.com
Meet The Beetles and The Yellow SubMorons are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our band mate, friend, and "brother". After a life long battle with di...abetes and the related complications, Scott Carlson slipped away "across the universe."
We could easily fill a book with wonderful memories of Scott, but over the upcoming weeks and months the stories will be told as we all pull together (feel free to post some of your memories in the comments). So instead, I think our time with Scott is best summed up with....
We laughed more than we cried; we smiled more than we frowned; we loved, shared love, and hopefully made the world around us a little bit better. Certainly our world is better for having had Scott in it. One of his last posts on Facebook read, "We are honored to have met you in our travels and always wish to meet again in the near future. You are a blessing to us, and we sincerely thank you for your support. See you soon!"
Last chance to see Words of Revolver in Grand Rapids, MI. The ArtPrize event where Nicole's full sized, hand drawn original is showing runs for one more week, ...through October 8. Make sure you plan your trip to see the art at the JW Marriott before it is too late. Words of Revolver is Nicole's pen and ink art work showcasing the album cover recreated using the song lyrics of the Revolver album.

Hey all....we met a huge Rutles fan yesterday . Phoenix has designed some of his own rutle-ings of Beatle album covers to fill in the ones that weren't made for the movie or such. Say cheers and onions to Pheonix, and enjoy his work!
WORDS OF REVOLVER FINE ART PRINTS AVAILABLE.
Pick yours up at the Fest For Beatles Fans and keep the shipping fees.
Remember this art from last year's Fest ...art show? Klaus Voorman (pictured with the art) suggested the artist (Nicole Nigh Hondros) make prints so all Beatle fans would have the opportunity to one home.
The price for a signed limited edition 2 foot by 2 foot print is $200 plus $15 shipping, but if you ask Nicole at the fest (she will have prints in her room) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange fest pickup, the shipping is free
Highlights of this year's Pierogi Fest Parade.....
1. Sound was at half power so we needed the crowd to help us sing, thus we performed Yellow SubMarine on an endless loop for at least 30 minutes
2. Tony was late and had to chase the float up the parade route with a cymbal in one hand and a drum throne in the other. Then we had to hoist him onto a moving truck.
3. Joyce for a guy dressed as a jester in the crowd and got him to join our procession.
4. Danny and the Submarine ...was one of a few parade photos from the entire event to make the newspaper.
5. The band on the float was one of 6 event photos chosen for the online newspaper.
6. The crown fell off the octopus and Alex couldn't see.
......and all that other stuff too!
