'We are so SO SO excited to announce that the name theSkyNet members suggested for an exoplanet has been chosen! Announced today by the IAU, 'Thestias' is now officially the name for the large planet around the star Pollux.

Congratulations to Rich Matthews who originally suggested the name, and thank you to everyone who voted, submitted suggestions and got excited about the competition.

Amazing - there's now a planet that YOU had a hand in naming!
