On February 15 2018, Officer's conducted a traffic stop on 2nd ST. Ne and Elm St. Officer's smelled the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer's conducted a search of the vehicle. Officer's found 1.5 Lbs of Marijuana. Officer's attempted to arrest the suspect. The suspect fled on foot after striking one officer in the face. The suspect was captured two blocks from the initial traffic stop. The suspect Ceenan Williams, age 20, was arrested and is charged with various offenses.

Recently with a hightened call volume, officers are noting that motorists are not pulling to the right and stopping when emergency lighting is activated. Pulling to the right and stopping ensures that officers, firefighters, and ems will be able to arrive to the need of others or their own in a quick fashion when seconds count. On January 24, 2018 at 7:55 a.m. a citizen of Tioga called to report that someone was attempting to gain access to their house through the back door. Tioga Police responded to the area of 5th St NW where they located a male walking east bound on 5th St. Tioga Police attempted to detain the male for questioning when the male fled on foot. A foot pursuit was initiated and went several blocks. The suspect was captured after resisting and fighting officers. The male is in cu...stody at this time. The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia-methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine, failure to halt. Tioga Police will have an ongoing investigation into the attempt of entry into the residence. Officers did locate tools on the male associated with burglary.
Thank you to the citizens that called into the Tioga Police Department giving locations of officers and the suspect. During the foot pursuit the officer did lose his radio and did ask citizens to call into the Police Department to give his location. Thank you for your help!

A blue alert much like an amber alert is put out against a suspect whom has committed a crime of violence against a law enforcement officer and is at large. This blue alert originated out of Bismarck, North Dakota earlier today. Please keep an eye out for the suspect pictured. If located call 911 IMMEDIATELY.

Thank you everyone for spreading the word in an attempt to assist us in coming to a resolution for this issue regarding the burglaries in town. As a result, we have received numerous consistent tips that have have led us to a person of interest (identity known) to the most recent burglary.
The tips we have received outlined the following information;...
The person of interest is a younger female in her early 20's and has light brown or dark blond hair that was worn up. The female was driving a smaller red sedan that had front end damage to the hood. This person of interest has been seen in the areas of the 600 block of north main street, and the 100/200/300 blocks of fifth street north west. The Tioga Police Department urges all residents to ensure that their residences/business remain locked and secure. Today Officers responded and took a report of a burglary that had occurred. This report will be the third burglary report taken since this date last month. If you see any suspicious activity, please do not hesitate to call the Tioga Police Department at 701-664-2514 or 911 in the event of an emergency.
