We need more peace and not war.

Fewer nuclear bombs and more universal health care and sharing of resources.

Less money on bombs and more money to abolish poverty.

More people power and less corporate power.

Russell Oliver has lived in Perry County in or near Hazard, Kentucky his entire life. He has been disrespected by those in his mining community and stood up to these social and environmental injustices. Russell is a Friend for Environmental Justice founding board member and our parliamentarian. He shared his experience at this conference as something he is happy to experience. Said he has been inspired to finish a book that has been on his mind . He wants to share his journey through decades of fighting for those in need. These are words from a true Appalacian soul that lives in the hearts of many.
