We're hiring!

Paid internship available for data visualization of Arctic soundscape research

Alaska EPSCoR is seeking an undergraduate student (sophomore, juni...or or senior) to assist with a data visualization project for the Spring semester. The student will work with researchers to design and execute an interactive visualization of soundscape research on aircraft activity over traditional (subsistence) harvest areas. The data were collected along caribou harvest corridors for the village of Nuiqsut in 2016. Preference will be given to a student from a North Slope community who is currently in good academic standing at UAF.

The internship will be funded as a Student Assistant C position for up to 20 hours per week.

Some experience with web design, computer programming and/or GIS would be beneficial but not required.

Please contact Taylor Stinchcomb (trstinchcomb@alaska.edu) with your interest or questions.

At least the Treatment Group is safe. For now.

However, proper laboratory protocols would recommend against consumption of test subjects.
