Sorry it has been awhile since we last posted.
We are planning to do something special for less fortunate children this holiday season with a program called Submarine Santa. We will be collecting toys and delivering them to children at CHKD in Norfolk, VA....
The USS Albany First Class Association plans to deliver a holiday meal to duty section personnel who are keeping the good ship safe during the holidays.
Any ideas from our FB followers on how to raise some money this holiday season; to offset holiday party costs, would be much appreciated.
Have safe and happy holidays!
Have you thought about picking up some college courses for the next semester? How about setting some fitness goals for the next 2,4,6,or 12 months? And what about that ever elusive qual you've been procrastinating about?
Opportunity waits for no man...playing it safe is boring!!! You'd be amazed what you're really capable of if you just take the first step. Move before you think you are ready. With enough energy and morale you can overcome any obstacle......
DON'T LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK!
Keep Charging, Men!
Have any of you spoken with the Command Financial Specialist recently about financial planning? There has never been a better time to knock out debt and formulate a written budget. Keep charging men!
Men if you haven't read Turn The Ship Around by CAPT (ret) David Marquet, you should definitely look into it.
“Leadership should mean giving control rather than taking control and creating leaders rather than forging followers.” Imagine leadership at every level on the good ship Albany... How many things could we accomplish???
Shipmates, we've made the navy.mil website! Hope everyone enjoyed the ceremony. Let's continue to make history men. Welcome aboard CDR Landis. So long CAPT Soldow. Fair winds and following seas old friend.

Happy Thanksgiving - ALBANY friends! I am thankful for the sacrifices the crew of the ALBANY has made over its 21 years in service and excited about the opportunities that they will have in the future. All the best.
