We stopped in today and was accepted like family, even though they weren’t technically open. The volunteer was very nice and accommodating. Thank you so much sir!

Dr. Lye is a living treasure. I and many people I've turned on to him have received wisdom and understanding from his teaching. Not too many like him alive now - very rare. The folks at Urban Dharm...a NC are kind and open-hearted. I am so glad to know y'all. See More

Urban Dharma is accessible. A person can stop in during open hours, sit for meditation or attend one of the weekly programs and/or attend a special teaching. It welcomes everyone. It is unique in that... it offers teachings on Tibetan Buddhism as well as techniques not specific to that particular tradition. So anyone can drop in, meditate, learn, chat, have a cup of tea. Urban Dharma is a peaceful and beautiful place to pause in a creative, artistic city. You do not need to be Buddhist to find serenity there!

It is an absolutely welcoming, compassionate place to be. I come up from Statesville, NC as frequently as possible just to come visit. It is a valuable part of my life.

Dear Friends of Urban Dharma,

Dr. Lye is giving a Dharma talk at Mountain Mindfulness Sangha this coming Tuesday, June 12th. We would love for members of the Urban Dharma community to join us in practice and receiving Dr. Lye’s Dharma talk. We meet at the Center for Art and Spirit at St.George, One School Road in West Asheville from 7:00-8:30pm.

We will begin with a silent seated meditation followed by walking meditation, and then Dr. Lye’s Dharma talk. The space is large,... and we have plenty of chairs and cushions available. There is amply parking in lots around the building.

We greatly appreciate Dr. Lye and Urban Dharma NC for giving our practice a home for several years, and now also for this opportunity to receive his Dharma talk. We hope to practice with you.

Metta,
Bob Woods
(on behalf of Mountain Mindfulness)
