Happy Birthday Dr. Gables!
Update on Wyatt: Just sharing with you how much he loved belly rubs! The video was taken before his foster mom picked him up!
WARNING! This video does contain footage from the actual surgical suite. If you are squeamish beware or do not watch! Have you ever heard of a lipoma? It is a benign tumor of fatty tissue. Pets can develop lipomas of various sizes from small to quite large. Some small growths can be of very little consequence and do not require removal. Some larger growths can inhibit movement, mobility or quality of life dependent upon the location. Dr. Gables has removed a lipoma that was 8 lbs from a dog. A growth of that size is quite a bit of extra weight for your pet to be carrying around. If your pet has a growth or lipoma and you want to investigate the need for treatment give us a call at 615-553-4156. A client of ours had a dog with two lipomas of significant size. He documented the surgical procedure with some video and shared it with us. Katana feels much better now that she is free of the growths.

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Gables for years. You will not find a more knowledgeable, caring, and honest veterinarian anywhere. He does not overcharge, nor will he recommend unnecessary procedures.... He truly cares for his patients and their human caretakers. This last month has been particularly heavy on vet visits for our four dogs (two of which are seniors and one is a puppy), and Dr. Gables and his staff always go above and beyond for our family. Even though we've moved to Smyrna, we wouldn't dream of taking our dogs anywhere else. VetMed is worth the 45-minute drive. Every time. See More

thank yall soooo much for your help throughout the many years molly was with us!! we all know she was a very special girl and very dear to my heart!! i miss her more and more as the days pass on but i... know that time will heal like the many times yall healed Molly!! and i truly know she is wanting in a special place now in a part of Heaven reserved for these most loved, special and unique animals, waiting on the day when we meet again and play without pain for eternity!! with all her problems and issues throughout her life it's a miracle that Dr. Gables kept her with us as long as he did!!
to Dr Gables and staff: without yall im positive that the life of my beloved Molly would have been cuit short by at least 6 years... but with Dr. Gables expertes he and his staff made the right decisions every time something major needed to be done!! without the abilities of Dr. Gables we would not have had the chance to continue a greatful future with Molly until the end.. you know they said the lifespan of a great dane is 7-10 years and we almost made it to 12 overcoming all the problems she had, and none were easy, these were strange and uniquely problems i believe the staff only has come across with Molly but every time yall prevaled!! Dr. Gables and his staff are truly the best at what they do and i will never stray from them!!
so please take this to heart guys and girls when i truely say thank you for everything!!!
im not use to facebook so i do hope yall receive this message!!
thanks from the bottom of my heart,
casey gore

I started using VetMed a few years ago for my Bichon, Henry, who has seizures and is considered "special needs". I recently lived in Hendersonville for a year for work, and had to use another vet for emergency surgery for bladder stones. I was DEFINITELY reminded of how wonderful VetMed is in comparison. Fortunately, for my furbaby, we've moved to Hermitage and are back with VetMed. LOVE this office, and everyone in it is warm, compassionate, friendly, and easy to work with. Pricing is reasonable, too. I know Henry is in great hands, and it's obvious from how he reacts to the staff that he knows it, too. He was a rescue, and is very particular about who handles him. He's a fantastic character reference, and he loves everyone at VetMed. Says a lot to me! LOVE LOVE LOVE this great group of people! See More

Thank you, Dr. Scott and Megan, for the great care you gave to Morris this week! He is feeling much better!

Love this. Who needs to come pick up an e collar?

PSA: Dogs are not particular about what they eat. Some need to be supervised or should avoid any exposure with children's toys. Here is the story. Puppy presents with vomiting. The family is just overwhelmed with the amount of vomiting. Dr. Gables shoots a film and sees a LOT of stuff in the stomach. Time for surgery. Look what this puppy has been consuming.
