I do not live in Teutopolis (commonly known as T-Town) but have worked here for 30 years. Once you are a part of this community you become "family". They work hard, look out for their own, support one... another and prosper. See More

Village of Teutopolis added 5 new photos — with Kari Probst Thompson.

Our March Business of the Month is Wellness on Main, owned and operated by Kari Thompson, LCPC.

Wellness on Main is a counseling center specializing in play therapy, which is a unique approach to children’s therapy. Play therapy uses playtime activities to connect with children. Kids enjoy these structured activities which in-turn, help them express their feelings and learn problem-solving skills in a positive way.

As a school counselor, Kari recognized a need and opportunity... to help the youth of her community. She was inspired to open her own therapy office because she witnessed first-hand children and families who were in need of additional or outside help that schools do not offer.

Wellness on Main opened on July 2015 and is located at 107 E. Main Street in Teutopolis.

Did you know that March 15th is the Ides of March day?
It is the first day of the Roman New Year. It also marks the first day of spring in the Roman calendar. On this day in history, Julius Caesar was warned by soothsayers to beware of the Ides of March. Apparently, he did not heed this warning strong enough as he was stabbed by Marcus Brutus on the Ides of March in 44 B.C.
March 17th is Saint Patrick’s day in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to the Emerald Isles, as Ireland is known as now. Saint Patrick’s Day has many symbols and traditions, from shamrocks and leprechauns to green beer and Corned Beef and Cabbage.
March 22nd is NATIONAL GOOF-OFF DAY. Relax, take a break, play hooky-or just goof off at your desk!!

There will be an ILG&E solictor in Teutopolis again today February 14th and tomorrow February 15th. This is the same company as last week. They are trying to get you to switch electric providers. Be cautious of switching on the spot or giving the solictor a copy of your ameren bill.

Teutopolis Residents. There is a solictor in town today and Friday with ILG&E. They are trying to get you to switch electric providers. The village supplier (Homefield Energy) is usually cheaper as we negoiate 3 year contracts which give residents a cheaper rate. Be cautious of switching on the spot or giving the solictor a copy of your ameren bill.

As Junior Miss Effingham County Fair Queen Elizabeth Weidner has been active in many causes and community service events. This month her focus is on the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (Cardinal Glennon, St. Louis Children's Hospital) in an effort to collect any NEW unopened hotel samples (baby samples are welcome too) that can be distributed in March to these hospitals for family use during inpatient stays for parents/caregivers. Something as simple as soap, shampoo, s...hower gel, toothpaste, deodorant, brushes, baby wash, etc can be forgotten/not packed or simply used up because of a lengthy hospital stay. The hospitals often will keep a stash of these donated items on each floor, and parents can go to the Ronald McDonald Lounge to request/grab a hot shower. A great way if you travel a lot to get rid of those extra travel amenities that have piled up in a random cabinet or suitcase somewhere!

For drop off locations and/or to make arrangements for pick-up...please email jenniferanneweidner@yahoo.com Lets support Elizabeth and her worthy cause!
