Lived in Fukuoka teaching English and I've been back since. I absolutely fell in love with this country. Utterly enchanted with the seamless blend of centuries ...old traditions and history and cutting edge modernity. The food is amazing, the shopping is awesome and I became a lifelong fan of JPop haha! Stayed for a month early 2013 for business but visited many places. I was amazed by the country's cleanliness and how courteous the people were. Hoping to visit in 2019 for my 50th birthday and see some of RWC2019, this site will hopefully help.

An excellent country, beautiful scenery, fast trains, humble people, great food. Technology is at its best around Japan. I enjoyed the fast train journey between Osaka to Tokyo. Osaka airport runway is on sea edge, the capsule passenger lifts are wonderful.

Will never visit Japan until the dolphin drives stop!! Utter brutally greed from the people in Taiji. More people need to know what happens there, dolphins driv...en into the cove and netted to see if they fit the grade for captivity! Once selected they will spend the rest of their days begging for dead fish in a small aquarium!!! Doing tricks for unknowing tourists. Mothers and babies separated by the fishermen without a care in the world. The rest of the dolphins will be slaughtered using a metal spike plunged into their spine and then left to drown next to their family members!!! This is not tradition, this is greed and pure evil!!! When will this stop! Please follow sea shepherd cove guardians to see exactly what happens September-march every year See More

I would love to visit your beautiful country, but while your government allows Japanese hunters to ruthlessly butcher beautiful intelligent sentient whales and dolphins, I will not be visiting, nor buying your products.

A country that condones the needless slaughter and capture of dolphins - a species more sensitive than humans - all in the name of profit. This isn't tradition, it's greed - don't give them your tourist dollars. They are barbaric.

Japan is truly exceptional, not only the people and true kindness but the place is just something of dreams. We love visitng Japan so much that we decided to na...me our daughter Sakura (cherry blossom) in japanese. If you haven't been already or are thinking about visiting then please do not hesitate!
me and my husband went for 3 weeks on our more recent trip. We started in Shinigawa district and visitng places on the the ever so punctual Yamanote line, after tokyo we headed on the shinkansen to osaka, Hiroshima ? Which is the most peaceful place, which is strange considering what tragedy struck there. We also visited kumamoto and their beautiful gardens which are in abundance! We also revisited kyoto. The highlight of our most recent trip was going far south down to Kagoshima prefecture and catching the hydro foil over to Yakashima island for 3 nights and staying in a local guesthouse in which we made great froends.with the owners ken and ate out overlooking the milkyway stars and mountains for miles, whilst there we took a bus trip up through the mountains to a place called Shiritani to see 3-4 thousand year old cedar trees? And the local Yaku deer, it was out of this world. There was so many amazing locations on our trip also including nikko waterfall, mount takao san. I could ramble on for hours. We are yet to take my daughter Sakura and would love to have the chance to take her where her name is from:) would love to be able to go in april to go cherry blosom watching in the parks. Another reason Jaoan is so soecial to me is because i have a rare disease called Lupus so i am allergic to the sun, when in Japan i can use my umbrella and no one takes a second look as they are all very sun consious. Makes me really happy when there. X fingers crossed for the competition

I went to Japan for the first time earlier this year. I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. It is the most amazing country I have had the pleasure of vis...iting. The people are friendly, the streets are safe, the history and culture is amazing and the scenery is stunning. I would recommend a visit to anyone as there is so much for people to see and do.
It saddens me when people see a tourism page and can think of nothing else to say other than down voting a country, that they have probably never been to, because of attitudes towards marine life. If you go there you would see the massive conservation projects and a massive opposition to whaling etc. I didn't see a single restaurant with whale, shark or dolphin on the menu.
Tokyo is truly the city that never sleeps with an amazing mix of modernity and history with amazing bars and restaurants. Kyoto is the old capital and has truly stunning sites to behold. I can now see why Osaka is the accredited inspiration for blade runner a very vibrant and alternative city with much to offer. Finally Hiroshima, which was tranquil, peaceful and emotional, truly a reminder for us all that peace in this world is what we should all aspire to.
Go there visit the country, experience the culture, meet the people, you will find it to be one of the most amazing experiences of your life.

This page is great for photographs and ideas about places to visit in Japan. I like it because it reminds me of places we've visited and gives me ideas for futu...re trips. We've been to Japan six times and still haven't seen everything we want to see! Japan is an amazing place to visit. The major cities of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto are so different. The countryside is stunning. The people are helpful and have always seemed pleased to meet foreign tourists. It's definitely one you should check off your bucket list! See More

With ancient rock formations and sacred torii shrine gates seemingly floating on the water or suspended in the sky, the colours, textures and shapes he captured simply defy words.
