"We defer to authority figures because we believe that they know more than we do. If a mistake is made, it’s easy to lay the blame at their feet. Ultimately, ho...wever, we are responsible for choosing the authority figure to whom we defer. Our choice to obey someone who urges aggression against others makes us responsible for that aggression. If we truly wish to help our world, we must first identify ways in which we may be causing its problems."
"Clearly, we do not really own 'our' property, but 'rent' it from our local governments. Retirees, who own their home 'free and clear' after decades of mortgage... payments, are often forced to sell because their property taxes have risen with inflation to exceed what their mortgage payment used to be. Property taxes amount to, in practice, a kind of rent you have to pay the government each year to be allowed to keep living on your own property!"
Well, well, well. Now isn't this all cozy and convenient? Read the article and connect the dots re: congressional mapmaking and a frustrating recent tie vote in the House of Representatives. Who are the puppets of big money, again?
“The 1962 Amendments to the Food & Drug Act were intended to prevent drug disasters like the European drug, thalidomide, which caused babies to be born with mis...sing limbs. However, these regulations made it virtually impossible for manufacturers to tell the American public about the preventative effects of vitamins and minerals. In the 1980s, we knew that the B vitamin, folic acid, could almost completely eliminate certain types of serious birth defects.
The FDA told folic acid manufacturers they would be prosecuted if they talked about these studies or if they pointed out that the Center for Disease Control, another government body, was recommending that young women take folic acid as a preventative.
Consequently, at least 10,000 babies were born needlessly deformed, while many others were aborted. The Amendments caused an ‘American thalidomide’, the very problem they were intended to prevent, demonstrating that bad laws can have side effects just as deadly as bad drugs.”

"When the police can’t or won’t help us, we need to be able to defend ourselves. Perhaps that’s why over 90% of police officers want citizens to be able to buy... firearms for defense, as well as sport, and as many as a third of our state legislators have concealed carry permits."
"The 'War Against Terrorism', as we practice it today, kills many times more innocents than terrorists. Labeling these deaths 'collateral damage' doesn't bring ...them back or give grieving families less incentive to join the jihad against us. War voraciously consumes resources, destroying the prosperity of nations which engage in it regularly. Consequently, war should always be a last resort, rather than a way of life. We must end the wars before they end us."
OMG common sense in Washington!
Thank you to my colleagues who voted for my Amendment and for fiscal responsibility. I'm disappointed in those who chose to further burden us with debt. My “Ame...rica First” amendment to the hurricane relief legislation would have provided assistance while preventing the federal government from further running up its debt.
FINANCIAL MASSACRE OF HELPLESS PEOPLE
The tax foreclosure bomb just dropped and exploded in Luzerne County.
With a population of approximately 330,000 people an...d an estimated 120,000 properties….
Another 2,412 properties were just publicly listed for Luzerne County Tax Claim Sales.
It is heartbreaking to read the list (Times Leader, 16 Aug 2017) and recognize the names of so many people you have come to know over the years. This list includes people from virtually every neighborhood and from every walk of life. These people have simply fallen on hard times,
and now they have no where to turn.
This event is nothing more than a “financial massacre” of helpless people. This “blood money” is a hell of a way to meet the school district’s payroll.
But the one element of good news in this mess is that it is now with in our power to end this evil business. We have to do whatever it takes in order to pass HB/SB 76 through the Pennsylvania Legislature---and the sooner the better.
Please talk to your family members, neighbors, co-workers, and people in your place of worship. Just say, “ Tell me about your school property taxes”.
It is amazing how many people still do not know about our effort, but they all hate their property taxes. You will find that they are all truly thirsty for information. SPREAD THE WORD!
I didn't know this.
Here is a speach that really made me rethink how I feel about statue removal.
