JUST IN: JCPS has chosen their next superintendent.

The Jefferson County Board of Education met to decide between Pollio and JCPS Chief Operations Officer Mike Raisor during a special meeting Sunday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Officer Anthony Morelli and Officer Eric Joering who were killed in the line of duty earlier today just outsid...e of Columbus, Ohio. They were responding to a 911 call. Also pray for the entire Westerville Police Department during this difficult time.

This has been a tragic couple of days for our law enforcement community as an officer was also killed in Georgia and two deputies injured. Pray for these heartbroken families, that they would have God's comfort and healing.

The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted" (Psalm 34:18).

The Stephen Foster Story

Yesterday, our county magistrates voted in favor of signing a lease with the state for the amphitheater property. This is a very positive and important step tha...t we’ve been waiting for! The county will now sub-lease to The Stephen Foster Drama Association. Many hours of work and negotiation have gone into this process while our team of contractors, architects, and engineers have been working with staff to develop a plan to move forward. We plan to have details soon to share about what will occur over the next several months.

Finalization of this lease is a step we have been working toward for weeks - this is one step of many and will be followed by many more. We would like to thank Judge Executive Dean Watts for his vision and leadership, as well Mayor Dick Heaton; our county magistrates; our project team that has been working diligently to create a plan; my Board of Directors; and my staff and volunteers. Senator Jimmy Higdon has been instrumental in this process, and we have had great support from Representative Chad McCoy. Thank you, gentlemen, for your dedication and responsiveness! To our fans and community - in our region and across the country -who have stepped up to share posts, write letters, make phone calls, make donations and otherwise spread the word about our situation: You are the reason we are fighting and your voice has helped pave a path forward!

Thank you for your support over the past six weeks! I look forward to sharing the project plan and the fundraising plan as soon as I can, and I look forward to working toward the 60th Anniversary Season…and the future of The Stephen Foster Drama Association (we have one! and it will be great!)!!!
