Congratulations Shaun! Like Matthew, Shaun was born with Tetrology of Fallot. He was a role model for Matthew and continues to inspire children with heart conditions...
That time would come,
That the fear for you would run its course,
The crashing waves stretch so,
We make space for laughter with friends in a bar,
Space for breathing,
Time to live fully a life without you,
(Your shaggy self in the morning unshaven, irritable, and hungry for food)
That you would ever be so long and far gone,
Resting or roaming, dissolved perhaps in your sea of souls,
A permanent spring flows into my still living life.
Seven years to exit the woolly forest,
The wandering and endless wanting to hold your shoulders,
To shoulder your fears.
To live fully without you,
A life I would not want,
For Matthew, somehow I know you would love this...❤️
Dear friends of Matthew. Many of you and your families made donations in Matthew's name to honor him. That money was split between a CSU scholarship in Matty's name and a fund at the Community Foundation which was undefined. We've now moved the Community Foundation money into the CSU scholarship in order to make that a more meaningful source of student support.
As some of you know, Matthew had a real fascination with and love for Africa, possibly connected to Kathy and Carl'...s Peace Corps service, and definitely connected to the African students whom he met at CSU events. We are posting letters that Kathy recently retrieved on her short trip to Fort Collins, so that you can see the good that this scholarship is doing. We know Matthew would be happy about this. Thanks to all of you for remembering Matthew and supporting this cause. You can always add to your support by going to www.thegoodmba.com.
