Yesterday, the incredible Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park was honoured at a special Guinness World Records certificate presentation event.
Zhangjiajie Bailong Elevator has three Guinness world Records: World’s tallest full-exposure outdoor elevator, world’s tallest double-deck sightseeing elevator and world’s fastest passenger traffic elevator with biggest carrying capacity.
In April 22, the east line Glass Skywalk reopened to the public
Jutting out from a sheer cliff 1,430 meters high, the glass skywalk in Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Park offers sightseers terrifying thrills and clear view of the mountains below as they tread nervously across the 60 meter long bridge encircling the vertical cliffs of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province. The 3ft-wide, 2.5in thick glass walkway is so scary that sightseers are requested to wear cloth slip-ons over their shoes when they cross the skywalk, presumably to make the job easier for the cleaners.
Tianmen Mountain National Park has finished the replacement of glass for the glass walkway in April 21. The workers had begun to replace the old glass in April 7. The walkway is expected to reopen to the public in May 1. Standing at roughly 4,700 feet above sea level, it is one of the world’s highest observation platforms. Roughly 200 feet in length, it braces the cliff face of the Tianmen Mountain, enabling an unobstructed view of the nearby scenery as well as an unusual panorama straight down the cliff. By March of 2015, it had attracted more than 4,300,000 tourists.
