Well, folks. The time has come. After 5 years, hundreds upon hundreds of shows, lineup changes, broken down cars, two albums and more fun than you could ever possibly have otherwise, we are calling it a night. Soleb Theory's last show will be July 3rd at Kirby's Beer Store with The Great Plains. Come celebrate with us. It will be fun, I promise.
Well, we're done recuperating and I think we can safely mark this down as one of the most fun and successful weekends we've had in a while. We would like to thank Ophil, Thundersandwich, Stiff Middle Fingers and Godzillionaire, of course, and all of the individuals contained therein; Alex Thomas and Brian Chambers for letting us invade their respective businesses; all the sweet bartenders for putting up with our loud selves and keeping the crowd lubricated; Paul Schneider for... once again letting us bring a bunch of unruly strangers into his studio, which turns out to not only be one of the best places to record in the state, but also one of the best places for bands to sleep; and every awesome duder/dudette who comes out to the shows and supports local music. It's not easy planning all this crap, and none of it would even be conceivable without the assistance of all the bars/bartenders/bands/promoters/fans we come into contact with. Til next time!
We've been away for a while because our esteemed bassist, Brody, was taking his yearly sabbatical to an undisclosed location 10 stories underground in a bunker deep within the Siberian wasteland... OK, dude went to Georgia for a couple weeks. But he's back and we're ready to rock tonight at Lucky's with OPHIL and our buds Thundersandwich (Lincoln NE). Show starts at 10, costs $5 and is guaranteed to be a blast.
We can't tell you how absolutely excited we are to be sharing the stage with our friends Godzillionaire this Saturday at Lucky's. We've been playing with them for the past year in various cities, and it's been awesome working together to put on some amazing shows.
The New Imperialism is a band with whom we've shared the stage scores of times over the past few years, and they continue to put out some of the most compelling, thoughtful music in Wichita.
Jessica Wasson is an u...p-and-coming local comedienne who's gaining quite the reputation around town. This is her third performance in the "Jesscapades" series, and if the previous two are any indication, it's gonna be a hilarious night.
ALL of this is being recorded live, which means we need all your little - and big - booties in the crowd! We're going to be making releases over the next year on Kirby's Beer Store Records. It's going to be a really special night that you do not want to miss.
For a measly $5 you get 4 hours of entertainment. 21+, 9PM sharp, Lucky's Everyday on Douglas Ave.
This event is only a couple weeks away. Don't miss out!
You can travel all over the country playing for strangers and it will NEVER feel as good as going to you childhood home, seeing people you haven't seen in a decade, and rocking out with/for them. Thanks to Derek, The Scud, Bad Card, Brad Chalkley, Time Out and everyone who showed up to make last night super duper.
Tonight is the night we return to John Barleycorn's after not seeing their stage for something like 2 years. Skychief and Grand Villanova (KCMO) are gonna be there, and methinks it will be just a lot a bit awesome. P-Diddy style all-white dresscode will be strictly enforced.
10PM // 21+ // $5
Tonight we're headed up to Hutch to play a show with Semiotic Weapons and the legendary GULCH. It's our first time in Hutchinson in quite a while, and I do believe it's our new bassist Brody Wellman's first time playing a show in his hometown in an even longer while. Needless to say, we're stoked. See you there, Hutch folks!
Last night went even better than planned. We're very lucky to be able to perform and form bonds with bands from all over the country, but LFK is at the tip-top of the list. Godzillionaire and The Rackatees represented their lovely town in the best fashion possible, and showed us and Vehicles an amazing time. Hats off to Cody, Kolin, Mike D and everyone who came out to make last night a super badass fun time.
Unfortunately, due to some scheduling issues on the bar's behalf, Soleb Theory will not be playing Friday night at Coda in KC. HOWEVER, we are still heading to Lawrence to play the ever-amazing Replay Lounge with Vehicles, Godzillionaire and The Rackatees on Saturday the 7th. Over and Out.
