Parents: Please remind your kids that this is not a joking matter. All threats will be taken seriously, investigated and may result in severe consequences.
Thank you to the Pearland Police Department for its partnership and helping us ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Police and school officials have worked tirelessly investigating recent threats made to our schools and students. We’d like to believe that the threats being m...ade are due to a lack of maturity on the part of the student but it is important for all to know – this type of thing will not be tolerated. Often times the students are very remorseful and say it was “only a joke.” They didn't understand the scope or the consequences of using social media in a threatening way. However, whether they meant it or not, we have to take every threat seriously. Now is the time for parents to have a conversation with their children regarding the seriousness of these threats. Using social media to make threats is a serious crime with serious consequences. Terroristic Threat is a Felony and will result in jail. In addition to criminal charges (even for juveniles) school discipline can be levied up to expulsion. Let’s all work together for the safety and comfort of our students in Pearland.
